Thinking of going back to college ( no GCSE)

I've been doing a bit of thinking recently and I'm wondering if I'd like to retrain to do something more purposeful. I'm
Currently in retail but I'd like to do something more 9-5 and. mon - Fri. Problem is I've no GCSEs something I really regret. I have two problems...
• are resisting English maths and science GCSE really hard?
• I've no idea what I'd like to actually accomplish in terms of an end goal

Are there courses for people like me (43) that are in the same position without retaking GCSEs ?

Any advise welcomed with open arms xx

Does your current employer offer the option to study for these qualifications? I an an ex-Tesco employee and store colleagues could join an “opportunity to get on” program to further their education. I know McDs & others do the same… then you can continue to earn & develop at the same time, plus you’d be with other adult learners & have a support system. Good luck!

Oh I'm not to sure actually. I've never heard of it. I'll have a look. Is it for training programs or GCSE/aa level type study

I think it will depend on where you work… different companies will have different offers. Tesco has a full on Academy set up, but I think a lot of the big food retailers have schemes. At Tesco you could definitely do GCSEs & A-levels when I was there. Plus all sorts of apprenticeships - which are not just for school leavers. Definitely ask your manager / HR rep what might be available.

Maths and English GCSEs are free at night school to anyone who hasn’t got a level 2 qualification in them

I've just had a nosy and my company don't do this unfortunately, such a great idea too.

I don't even mind doing night courses but I worry that I wouldn't stick at it ( even though I'd really be wanting to)
