Does a trump victory change the view of the severity of sexual assault on society

So Donald Trump, a convicted sex offender, has decisively became the most powerful man in the world for the second time.

Does this victory mean that there is a danger the severity of sexual assault may be undervalued in future as it would visibly appear that such behaviour does not limit your rise to power in any way?

Obviously many women in the US voted for trump so are quite capable of separating policies for. The man but does this not leave a social current where there is a tacit acceptance of such behaviour of a man is powerful?

I could never see such a man rise to such power in the UK but now we have to see British politicians act diplomatically towards him again maybe placing a kind of legitimacy to his behaviour.

I do understand that technically he’s been found liable in a civil court rather than convicted in a criminal court but in my eyes he’s still “guilty” of being a sex offender. I believe the woman (women) who spoke out about what he did. I believe he sexually assaulted her. And more importantly a jury believed her.

Grab ‘em by the pussy anyone? 🤷‍♀️

This is just quite an odd exchange, and this is the accuser. Trump described her as a ‘nut job’ which obviously riles people up because it can easily slot into the ‘blame the victim’ tactic, but…..he might have a point! Rape is “sexy”?!?

I don’t think loads of people were that fussed before Trump, look at the conviction rates, crappy sentences.

Regardless many people felt Trump is better for the economy and that was their main motivation.

He's a self confessed sexual predator, his own words (some PP quoted above) including about his own daughter. And yes, I believe women when they make such allegations. And, in US society especially, people don't care about this.

Until it happens to them, of course.
