I can't drink enough water and feel dizzy. Shamelessly posting for traffic

Day 2 now where I can only sip at water (if I try bigger sips I'll vomit)

I can't eat. I feel like I've eaten a Christmas dinner and pudding, yet nothing has been eaten in 2/3 days. And I like food!

I just feel so full. Trouble is, I now feel very dizzy from an active lifestyle (Kids), and I suspect dehydration because I just can't get enough water or any fluids down

My stomach looks 8 months pregnant and is so, so sore. Like a 'open sore' feeling.

Prior to this, I was constipated for 10 days and took Laxido as prescribed. I continued on with the maintenance dose and as of yesterday, can't even do that as I'll vomit

The pain is honestly so awful. Yet clearly I feel like I need some nutrients because I feel dizzy with low blood sugar Sad

Following up with my very nice GP on Monday morning at 10am

Oh you poor thing. Echo others suggesting A&E.

JanefromLondon1 · 09/11/2024 19:15

Go to A&E.

Growsomeballswoman · 09/11/2024 19:16

Please go to a&e. If you have a blocked bowel it can be very serious. Please go.

Go to A and E

Lifeglowup · 09/11/2024 20:06

Liquid means the orginal poo is still there. You need to go to A and E.

WhereistheDinrefrigerator · 09/11/2024 20:07

Go to hospital. Mumsnet is not a good place to ask for medical advice.

Fireworknight · 09/11/2024 20:07

Another vote for a and e.

HaveYouGotNoMoreHolly · 09/11/2024 21:23

Thank you. Just sat in A&E now

But I have to ask, I don't understand it being just watery stool meaning the blockage didn't pass? My son use to take Movicol and I remember being told told not to stop the high dose until his stools were like liquid, meaning the blockage should've cleared, and then to gradually wean down

Think of it like a badly fitting cork in a bottle of mixed items of solid and liquid. The majority of the contents can't get past but the liquid will. If you've not had a "BIG" bowel movement from the laxatives then the liquid isn't good news.

Often with impacted stools, it causes watery stuff to come out as body tries to just push poo out.

I suggest you don't downplay it. Use the word excruciating, cannot tolerate the pain etc because you're at risk of being fobbed off. I've been here many times. If you have to ham it up a bit then you have to ham it up

No room for sorry to be a pain etc in this climate with NHS. You want some sort of scan to look for impaction, diverticulitis, anything.

Don't leave without some scan. Stress that you can't drink enough or eat.

CoastalCalm · 09/11/2024 21:32

Dehydration is deadly and if you leave it you’ll get to the stage when you are unable to advocate for your own health and make the right decisions , try sipping diahoralite or make some St Marks solution up or even add salt to some orange squash and get checked out - I have dangerously low kidney function now as a direct consequence of dehydration and it is life changing

Watery stool and a soft, pain free tummy = impaction has resolved, Laxido has worked.

Watery stool, agonising pain, bloated belly, full feeling, no bowel movement for 5 days despite taking Laxido = see a doctor.

If only liquid comes out it means it had come around the solid mass of poo. Your last poo was just liquid and you still have all the symptoms of very bad constipation. Your last poo was 5 days ago. You’re definitley still constipated.

Quitelikeit · 09/11/2024 22:29

What a nightmare op at least you are (hopefully) in the right place to get this resolved

SugarMiceInTheRain · 09/11/2024 22:37

I hope you can get seen soon OP. My mum had something similar and ended up having a massive operation for a bowel obstruction.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 10/11/2024 07:43

CalicoPusscat · 10/11/2024 07:50

Lifeglowup · 10/11/2024 10:07
