Are you able to get stuff done in the morning before you go to work?

I'm hoping people will tell me the secret of how to do anything first thing in the morning.

All I can do is shower, dress, clean teeth and brush hair before leaving for week.

I can't even eat or drink anything, and I don't know how people find the time to have breakfast.

If I get up earlier then everything just takes longer so I still have no time.

But I know of other people who clean their houses, write novels, bake, learn Japanese, do DIY etc before work.

I just want to be productive in the morning because it feels like I'm wasting time but I don't know how. How do you make time in the morning and stop it disappearing?

I get up at half 6 and leave at 7 .15. I manage nothing other than shower and get ready in this time. I refuse to get up earlier because I already go to bed at 10 and need my sleep. Life is too short to have 16 waking hours and fill every minute of them.

I get up at 6.30, and leave at 7.20.
I shower, get ready, make lunch for 3, and have breakfast with the kids.

DH, on the other hand, doesn't function in the mornings. He does late stuff!

For me it depends on start time

Right now Im starting at 6 so no one would like me making a noise

Starting later, out of bed, throw the covers back, open window, jump in the shower, toilet, brush teeth. Swirl the loo out, wipe the seat, swish the sink and taps, quick wipe of vanity

Back in bedroom. do myself, hair and face, make the bed

Get dressed, put away anything that shouldn't be in the living room, into kitchen, make breakfast, make sure the dishwasher is sorted, wipe the counters, feed cat and dog - and Im gone

Some mornings I have time to run the vacuum over, but again depends on what time Im leaving. As a matter of scale - Im up at 5 and leave at 6;20, so as long as I dont log in to my socials, I can get a lot done - even when being quiet

Dusting, proper cleaning waits till the weekend or day off, Just making sure nowt is where it shouldn't be or just dropped at the feet, makes the house feel and look a lot better

Yep. Get up, everyone washed, dressed, fed. Daughter usually does some colouring or something, I often run the vacuum round or clean the bathrooms, makes lunches and out the door

It's actually when I'm most productive! I leave the house at half seven so I'm up at half five to shower, get the kids up, make breakfast for us all. Then get ready, empty and reload the dishwasher, empty and load up the washing machine and clean the kitchen surfaces, whilst chivvying kids along to get ready. That way when I'm finally home 12 hours later I'm not walking into a tip with loads to do before I can sit down. I'm a single parent so it all falls to me, and I'd much rather do it before work than after.

I wouldn't say I'm a morning person, it's a struggle, especially in winter when it's dark and cold, but the benefits outweigh the hardship!

What would be the benefit to you to get the thing done in the morning? I think people only really do stuff if their either have in built drive to (which you don't) or there's a good motivation.

I dont really understand it either
All that faffing about in the morning with young DC
Hoovering??
Nope- robot vacuum here

Dishwasher put on and surfaces cleaned straight after dinner and emptied before bed.
Pop dishes, cups etc straight in if you eat breakfast
Lunches packed as soon as you get in-wash, dry, repack and place in fridge
Bags packed and clothes laid out
No idea why it would be a tip?
Unless people don't clear away the evening before maybe?
