Yorkshire puddings for breakfast

What do you do with any left over Yorkshire puddings

I make 24 as make gluten free and normal then for breakfast we have them with jam the next day

Yorkshire pudding is basically the same as pancakes so thats basically pancakes for breakfast right?

No Yorkshire puddings need to be drowned in gravy and mint sauce 🤤

hamsandyams · 08/11/2024 08:20

Popovers are a thing in the US and are basically Yorkshire puddings with jam.

I don't quite understand the question. Left over Yorkshire puddings?? Surely you eat keep picking at them throughout the evening until there are none left oram I the only greedy one here who can't seem to stop

MiddleAgedDread · 08/11/2024 08:22

Freeze them!

FrenchandSaunders · 08/11/2024 08:22

im sure I read the Toby carvery do cheese and bacon Yorkshire’s with their brekkies

DinnaeFashYersel · 08/11/2024 08:22

I've never had leftovers

Soldiergirl99 · 08/11/2024 08:24

Nothing wrong with Yorkshires for breakfast.

Yorkshires with jam though 🤮.

Ditto! They go faster than the roast round here 😂

ThanksItHasPockets · 08/11/2024 08:31

Yes, they are basically pancakes, but fwiw they freeze very well.

Out of the 24 Yorkshire puddings, on the day they’re made, how many do you and your family consume roughly? Leftover yorkies are a myth 😅😂

Sparklfairy · 08/11/2024 08:34

I have never heard of leftover Yorkshire puddings ever. I live alone, and if I made 24 for a roast-for-one, there still wouldn't be any leftovers Grin

You're definitely not the only one. I've never heard of Yorkshire puddings being left for the next day. That's some willpower right there that I just don't have 🤭

autienotnaughty · 08/11/2024 08:37

Bacon and cheese on it

HarpieDuJour · 08/11/2024 08:39

On the rare occasions when we have leftovers, we also eat them with jam the next morning. They are delicious!

Doveyouknow · 08/11/2024 08:40

I was going to say in America they serve them with jam and call them popovers. It's just a pancake so why not? Though leftover yorkshires are not a problem I have ever had!

BuzzieLittleBee · 08/11/2024 08:41

The principle of something so similar to a pancake (same ingredients, just a thicker batter) being eaten at breakfast feels logical. It couldn't happen here because (a) I always cook them in the fat which has come off the roast beef, so they wouldn't work with a sweet filling, and (b) there is no such thing as a leftover YP here!

StormingNorman · 08/11/2024 08:55

It sounds logical although I’d finish them off later that evening with golden syrup and maybe cream.

Dampfnudeln · 08/11/2024 09:17

If there are any leftover from the dinner itself (rare), they're eaten for pudding with golden syrup.

MikeRafone · 08/11/2024 15:19

autienotnaughty · 08/11/2024 08:37

Bacon and cheese on it

ohh thats sounds good - do you melt the cheese?

OP posts:
autienotnaughty · 08/11/2024 15:29

@MikeRafone cook the bacon until almost done. Then pop it in the Yorkshire pudding with cheese on top then finish it off in the oven.

Amazing with golden syrup, I agree.

EffinMagicFairy · 08/11/2024 16:08

One of my childhood memories was my nan and grandad having Yorkshire pudding and jam for desert, I reckon you could get away with a dollop of ice cream too, keep meaning to do some for the kids but there’s never any left.

MikeRafone · 08/11/2024 16:11

I make 12 Yorkshires when I put the meat in, then when I take the meat out to rest I make another 12 as the potatoes and etc are finishing off

so we always have 24, sometimes a freeze some for mid week dinners, I roast some chicken things as they are so cheap and we have a mini roast

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 08/11/2024 16:17

If I ever had any left over, I’d warm them up and have them with leftover gravy. And maybe mint or horseradish sauce. 😋
