Have you used a SAD lamp?

do you feel they helped?
would a sunrise alarm clock do the same sort of thing?

Wondering whether to purchase for our family but would probably need 3 as we have busy mornings so would need one in each room I think.

I used one on doctor’s recommendation. Revolutionary! Made such a difference to my energy levels. Definitely worth the investment for me.

I think you need to be realistic about whether each person will actually sit for sufficient time in the morning with it close enough to have effect.
Check which lamps actually have the required rating/strength supported by evidence. There's often a lot of good advice in reviews of them. I have one of those ones that look like a tablet and I use it on my wfh desk. Sunrise alarm clocks are also great, for gradual waking, but I don't know if many are also SAD lamps?

Sunrise alarm clocks don't do the same job at all.

Can I ask which one you use? I’m looking for one and there are so many….

Oh yeah I live mine, not used it this YEAR yet, I must be naturally more cheerful

I would strongly recommend trying a daylight temperature 1500lumen LED bulb for the places you spend most time in. A lot cheaper than a SAD lamp and I have found them really effective. Given how inexpensive they are, I would try that first.

I got a desktop one from John Lewis and it does make a difference - but build it up gradually - learnt that the hard way!

I think it does give me more energy, to the point that overdoing it can make me jittery. Maybe get one to try before you all buy one?

Yes, I have a Philips GoLite Blu. It's discontinued now, but I think you can get them 2nd hand on ebay etc. I like it as it is compact, portable and rechargeable so once charged, you can pop it in your bag and take it with you if need be. I found it very helpful when I had clinical depression.

I have the SAD glasses so I can wear them whilst getting ready, having breakfast in a morning. They fit over my ordinary glasses so I can still read and I've found them a great benefit last winter when I bought them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Model-Luminette-Therapy-Schedules/dp/B07VMRRB9Y/ref=asc_df_B07VMRRB9Y?mcid=d0faac12125035489cc9ecb20c9bd257&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696385640875&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11488620881742294445&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9209446&hvtargid=pla-844562885683&gad_source=1&th=1

You can get them on Ebay for pretty cheap. That's what I did when I first started using them. Wouldn't be without it. Also take Vitamin D and K2 Better You Spray. I know from blood tests my levels are good.
