I can't sleep

14 week old baby. Up to feed 3/4 times a night. I cannot for the life of me get back to sleep after he's fed. If I don't scroll my phone while he's feeding I just fall asleep with him while he's on the boob, I can't stop myself. But if I scroll my phone it wakes me up so much I can't get back to sleep after. I can't co sleep as our mattress dips and we can't afford a new one at the moment, and he won't settle in bed next to me anyway as doesn't like feeding lying down.

Any advice?!

Do you feed in bed? If so maybe try getting up out of bed and feeding to see if that stops you falling asleep. It’s difficult. My DS is 7 weeks and I struggle at times

Morning- going without sleep is the pits isn’t it? And phones are a bit of a curse because our brains are drawn to them day or night.

Re sleeping - perhaps aim for blocks of sleep right now rand that way you might not feel so much pressure to get a full night , even though that wd b lovely. I always tried to put my baby back into a Moses basket after feeding and to feed with minimal light on and no chat with baby making the night feed as boring as possible for them. Aim being that they get the message that this is night time. Your baby may get stimulated by the phone too and that’s def not what you want.

I find tensing all my muscles and then relaxing is a v good way to unwind. Deep breathing and meditation too or just giving myself some reassuring phrases to say in my head like: I’m are okay, im doing my best etc
re bed - is it actually comfortable for you? do u have a friend or family member that may have a spare mattress? Or some charities give out items like this - check in your local area.

I'm worried if I feed elsewhere I'll fall asleep there - which would be more dangerous.
