Robot vacuum

I would like a robot vacuum cleaner, but my house it a bit tricky because there are steps up and down into the kitchen and utility etc. I think if I just get one that I can plug in to charge, rather than one that self docks, I could just set it to clean one area at a time. Would that work? I know it's not as efficient, but as long as I can just move it from one area to the next I'll be happy.

Oh! And if anyone can recommend one, I would be very grateful FlowersSmile

Even with a docking one you can take it to a place and set it to clean that place - it just won't be able to get home afterwards.

I've got a reasonably basic Eufy and am happy with it but have no comparison.

I agree with PP - just plonk it where you want it.

I have an Eufy that I got on the Amazon refurbished site. (Search Amazon for refurbished Eufy). It is a £400 ish model for £135 - purchased 2yrs ago. I love it.

I also have a very basic Eufy that I have had for 3 years now and I love him. He's the dumb model, all he has is a timer and at the set time he will leave his dock and bump around randomly until his battery gets low and he heads back to base. I set him for 5am and when I get up at 7.30 he's back in base and charging. At lunchtime I pop him in the kitchen and leave him to bump around either until he's flat or I come back down for my afternoon break. Twice a week I lift him upstairs at lunch time and leave him to work his way around the bedrooms and hall. It's easy and quick to just lift him into any room or space and set him off, then lift him back and place him on his charge pad when he's done. I arrange this around times when these spaces are not in use, so during the day when I am out dog walking or in my office working.

Oh amazing! Thank you.
I had visions of it sadly and desperately trying to get back to its docking station! Grin

Well, it might - but then but will either run out of power or just stop itself (depending on its AI).
