Asking people who work in Renewable Energy

If you're genuinely passionate about decarbonisation and climate change. Do you still feel as passionate about your job as you did when you started working in the industry?

Do you still feel "what I'm doing is so interesting and it's for the good of the planet"?

Not me but my DH does. And yes, he does, after 30 years in the industry.

That's lovely to hear. DS has started in this field and finds it genuinely exciting and interesting. He enjoys the analytics and the modeling.

I was asking because I was wondering after many years in the industry does it ever just become "work is work" and the enthusiasm dies out because it's the same stuff?

I do. It's still cool and I don't want to do anything else.

DS is not an engineer but an economist and finds power system economics and the energy system super super fascinating.

Work is work, but the advantage of renewables is that the technology changes fast. The landscape is completely different now to 10 years ago, and will change a lot in the next 10 years. That means you always need new skills and learning keeps it interesting.

Is it a case of technologies getting better and cheaper or is it a case of new technologies being invented?

I'd like to ask about what has changed (for the better)?
