Quitting intermittent / light smoking / vaping

Hi

I’ve fallen into a slightly strange routine with smoking/vaping. I smoke only when drinking on holiday so probably 1-2 packets max a year. Vaping I vape for a week or two then stop for a few months (for example I vaped in July then not again til September) but do vape when out drinking in the UK (only really once a month). Over a course of a year I probably do around 8-10 of the disposable vapes in total.

I do have adhd which is medicated which I think is what stops me from smoking/vaping daily.

I’ve been on a short break in Spain for a few days, and have smoked half a packet and also vaped. I’m a HCP so well aware of the dangers of both but yet 4-5 times a year still smoke and still vape a bit more regularly. I fly home tomorrow and am not at risk of smoking, but am at a bit of a risk of vaping.

because it’s not a fixed addiction / daily thing I struggle to break the habit because it’s such a part time habit.

Has anyone had a similar pattern of smoking / vaping and completely quit it?

grateful for any advice.

thanks

tracking helped me break the habit naturally. PuffStats was my go-to app

I went cold turkey. By day 5 I was so glad and over it.

Read books on how to stop smoking by Allen Carr.

I went cold turkey. What helped me was I run a fair bit and I could feel the difference in my chest which spurred me on. After a few weeks it became easy to talk myself out of it if I was tempted to buy one.
