What tool do you use to scrape the walls of your pumpkin?

I used a kitchen spoon with a flat edge, earlier on, to thin the walls of my pumpkin so I could carve a sugar skull into it easily & the light would shine through the flesh of the bits where I've removed the skin (does that make sense?).

Anywho...I've been thinking...there must be an easier way?

I'll probably not get to finishing it now so the girls are busy cutting a face into it while I'm out...but so I'm prepared for next year 🤣

I got a pumpkin carving kit from Asda for £1 this time and it was brilliant! So much easier

I just use a spoon, usually a tablespoon. Never even thought about a special tool 🤔

Ice cream scoop.

Spoon for usual cleaning out, for leaving a thin layer, I use a cheese knife and shave it away.

@mnahmnah I bought one of those. It was rubbish 🤷‍♀️

@PucaBandearg me too, but I'm not as strong as I was & struggled with the spoon this time.

Big metal spoon

@Talipesmum maybe I need to invest if I want to do fancy pumpkins, rather than use the kitchen tools & supermarket kit. Thanks for the link!

Yeah I do think it helps, the thin serrated knives in the kit are great too, the whole lot is really easy to use. And I spent years with my favourite spoons and kitchen knives!

Thanks @Talipesmum - I've seen plastic ones in supermarket but always thought surely they'd break, but those ones look a lot better!
