Teacher gift (sorry but need quick help)

My kid is finishing school soon (we’re overseas) and I’m looking for ideas for a gift. They have had the same form teacher for all their high school years and whilst my child is of course lovely she deserves some kind of knighthood for putting up with him and no doubt his classmates. I was going to get some kind of organic bijou handmade gin but the school has said no alcohol! Budget is probably 50 quid could do more or less! Any ideas? (I will obviously get my kid to write a lovely very heartfelt card as well) Thanks team.

A card with a personalised expression of appreciation will mean far more than anything you buy. Trust me. I have kept all I have received.

I got a £50 voucher once and was very very shocked but also very grateful.

Honestly teachers don’t know what to do with all the stuff they receive and £50 cash or a voucher is the best gift possible. Along with a personalised thank you it will be gratefully received. I was once given a carriage clock that still sits in our guest bedroom but I didn’t need it. And my cupboard overflowed with beauty gift sets.

Card & voucher if you want, but cash is more versatile.

Lifeonttheedgggge · 30/10/2024 07:10

Yep definitely voucher/cash. Or voucher and a nice bunch of flowers.

FoFanta · 30/10/2024 07:12

Voucher for a nice bakery/coffee shop near the school.

Just bear in mind that there might be rules on the value of gifts that a teacher is allowed to receive.

BCBird · 30/10/2024 08:28

Card with message, including one from.your son. Voucher. There might be rules about accepting gifts. Teacher will just declare it I suppose. Not much that can be done if u r no longer in the country.

A gift card sounds good, it's a shame about the alcohol as I love it when my husband gets given wine, chocolates are great too. But I think a gift card for a good supermarket or cash.

shellyleppard · 30/10/2024 08:30

They do some lovely thank you gift sets on Etsy .. apart from that how about a little hamper with some lovely biscuits/hot chocolate sachets etc?
