I've got two results.

1 says you must be able to put the bag in the overhead locker yourself.

1 says it must be stowed under the seat in front of you.

Which is it please?

It’s one or the other! For free, you get one bag that fits under your seat. If you want a slightly bigger cabin bag, you will need to pay to put it in overhead lockers.

Thanks @yellowsun. At which point do you pay? I am flying tomorrow!

If you haven’t already booked a bigger bag when you bought your flight, you only have the small bag to go under the seat in front of you.

Yellowsun is correct.

The free underseat bag mustn't be more than 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and can weigh up to 15kg, but you have to be able to lift and carry it yourself. That's the only free bag - you can't have a handbag in addition, for example.

You can pay for what Easyjet calls a large cabin bag, which mustn't be more than 56 x 45 x 25 cm, including any handles and wheels, and you have to able to lift that into the overhead locker yourself.

You can log into the booking and pay for the extra bag before you travel. And select a seat

Their ridiculously small bag checker thing, ensured that we had to pay 58 euros last weekend in Greece so we could take the small bag on the plane, as the wheels didn't fit.

We'd measured it, including the wheels before we left home. It was fine to take on and put under the seat when we left the UK, but they made us pay on the way back. Didn't have a tape measure to prove it so I got called a liar by the member of staff.

That's why I take a squashy backpack as my underseat bag. I then use it as a daysack on holiday.
