He’s finally got a hospital bed, and a catheter the color of whisky. Does anyone know why he wouldn’t be on a saline drip? Just worried and very few if any, staff around.

He would only be on a drip if he couldn't swallow. If he's eating and drinking normally he won't need one.

There will be a doctors round in the morning where further decisions about treatment will be discussed with the wider team.

For now, if he's able to drink, they won't necessarily put a catheter in. If they feel one is needed, they will be able to insert one. Hospitals can seem lonely and isolating in the early hours but the medical attention is there if needed. At the moment, the priority will be him getting some rest.

Try not to worry.

They might be waiting on his bloods before they decide if he needs fluids.
They might be hoping to discharge him in the morning.
Not easy, but you have to wait for the morning review to get the plan going forward. Night time is long in hospital isn't it.
Some hospitals have TIA clinics, lead by nurses, with medical support, they might see him in the morning.
Hope he makes a speedy recovery. Hope you all get a bit of rest.
