How best to say thank you to GP practice?

I'm very lucky in that my GP practice is absolutely brilliant and they've been wonderful to my whole family this year through a variety of health issues.

We've interacted with a number of staff directly, plus a lot of support staff will have helped without us knowing.

I'd like to send a really heartfelt thank you/Christmas card, plus a gift, to all of the staff, but I don't know what to get. Anyone work in a GP surgery and can advise? I don't want to get generic chocolates/biscuits unless everyone says that would be the best thing.

All fabulous ideas, thanks everyone.

Yes lots of good ideas. Biscuits and tea and coffee are good. Chocolates go down too easily I know from experience 😭

Many, many years ago, my parents used to give their old-fashioned family doctor a bottle of whiskey. In fact, all his patients gave him bottles of whiskey. Poor Dr H went far too early from liver failure. I doubt he was the only one.

Something to share in the break room is probably safer.

A little hamper would go down well.

Edible things, a nice thank you letter, and a glowing report on whatever patient feedback form the surgery use would be lovely

They really will appreciate the thank you

Maybe a gift card for a coffee shop costa/starbucks etc if there's one near the surgery - so they can all get a nice drink & cake

Send them a nice batch of something they can all enjoy like cupcakes or donuts or even get like a platter made up and sent to them ? I would have enjoyed that when working in pharmacy your run off your feet so nice food is always appreciated.

I baked a cake for my ophthalmologist and the rest of his team - think it went down well.

Are you sure they didn’t just throw it away @HotHorseRadish ?
I wouldn’t eat food provided by random patients, there are a lot of nutters out there who could have put anything in there.

HotHorseRadish · 29/10/2024 19:29

I hadn’t thought they might throw it away - hope not!

I bought a batch of 30 hand creams and wrapped them for the hospice staff

After our GP went above and beyond to help we sent a voucher for the local independent coffee shop and a thank you card. There are 15 staff members according to ‘meet the team’ on their website so made sure there was enough to have a coffee or hot chocolate each.

I work in a GP surgery. We love a thank you in any shape or form - card, letter, email.

Biscuits and chocolates are always gratefully received. We don’t tend to eat home baked products as 1, allergies, 2, hygiene, and 3, you don’t know what might be done to it!

We were just saying today much as we love biscuits and chocolates it would be amazing to receive a lovely fruit basket!

A good review on the patient opinion website. Or a card. It's the little things!
