Have you been to Paris/Disneyland? If so I need your help!

I'm going to Paris with my son in May half term. He's desperate to see Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower and Disney. We are going Saturday to Saturday. He has SEN and we have a ride access pass which we can use for Disney. We are on a bit of a budget and I could use some advice on a) where to stay in Paris that's not too far away from central and b) where to stay near Disney (sadly can't afford the Disney hotel prices as would be £500 min for one night)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hotel d e'lyesse - spelling val de Europe

Excellent value, right opp bus stop to Disney , and by train station to Paris and.... Opp the supermarket and close to a bolongerie also it has a fridge. Also much nicer than Disney hotels which actually don't get good reviews and have buffet issues

Thank you! We're looking to stay in an air bnb as want to be able to cook our own meals, so more looking for general areas of Paris (sorry should've been clearer about that).

However happy to stay at a hotel for one night near Disney (we are doing it over two days!)

You need to book for the Louvre or you won’t get in.

Why is this funny?

We stayed in an Airbnb in ferrieres en brie last summer. We did have a car so it was easy to get to Disney but there is also a bus. It was a bit longer to get into Paris by public transport, a bit over a hour. The little town was fine, very small French town! We also had a day trip to the aqua village centre Parcs which has a bus shuttle to Disney and to Paris but I don't know what the accommodation prices are like.

You can stay at a Disney hotel for much cheaper than £500 a night, try looking at Santa Fe or Cheyenne and they usually include your access ticket. I'd say 2 days minimum at Disney to see the majority of it.

I've just looked on their website and you can't book for the whole of march/april/may. I'm not sure if this is because it's too far in advance or if it's because it is sold out.

Louvre is sold out until the end of may so we might have to go next year. Thanks to the poster who gave me a heads up. I'm gutted.

I would recommend an air b n b near val d”Europe station. One stop / 20min walk to Disney and easy to get into Paris (5Eur on train which takes about 40min)

Not sure what PP was saying about Louvre - we went on Wed last week having booked on Monday,

There are still tickets available this month for a couple of months but after that it's completely sold out. I'm not sure what it's like trying to get cancelled tickets. It's 7 months away so maybe. Mona Lisa is the main reason DS wants to go so might have to do a bit of research!

Don’t dismiss the Disney hotels - because you get your ticket combined in the price I think some of them are good value.
we did sequoia lodge for 4 of us (one room though) for 3 nights (you get 4 day tickets) in August for £1400.

Squirrelz5 · 28/10/2024 08:50

Unless you just can't book that far in advance! Their website isn't very clear. Struggling to believe it's sold out 7 months in advance

Have you thought about Davy Crockett ranch? It’s Disney accommodation (cabins) and it’s self catering. Hotel Elysee looks really nice but Davy Crockett worked out cheaper for us as tickets were included. You also get into the park half an hour earlier. You do need a car, though. It’s about a 5-min drive from the park.

purpleme12 · 28/10/2024 09:03

The Louvre obviously only release tickets a certain amount of time in advance. No need to worry

UrbanSquirrel · 28/10/2024 09:05

Just to add about the Louvre, I'm agree with PPs that it's just that no tickets have yet been released that far ahead, as availability for November is pretty good. I work in museums and, although a special exhibition might well sell out, this won't be the case with general entry. Have another look slightly closer to the time (maybe a month out).

It might also be worth bearing in mind that the Louvre is open until 9pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, so this might mean that it's a little bit quieter and easier to navigate.

Good luck!

It's not sold out, the tickets aren't released yet.

Dont bother paying for a guide to the Eiffel Tower. Queue for the lift and buy a ticket when you get there. The lift queue is between 30 and 90 minutes long depending on how busy it is.

User364837 · 28/10/2024 10:49

Depending how high you want to go on the Eiffel Tower it is best to buy that ticket in advance too.
or (based on a recommendation from here) we went up another modern sky scraper which was free I think, or very cheap, and had amazing views, including of the Eiffel Tower! Was tour montparnasse I think
