How many t-/shirts do your DC wear a week?

I've just ironed and folded a seemingly endless pile of laundry. DD has surpassed herself with 16 T-shirts this week. DS is mildly better with 11. DH probably averages 10. No wonder I have so much washing! How do they compare with your family?

1 maybe 2 school shirts and 1 for out of school

DS wears one per day unless there's a spill or something. So that's seven of his each week. Plus joggers he might wear a couple of days before putting them in the wash. When he was in school he just wore his uniform all day, so five shirts, one PE top and two tops at the weekend.

This explains why we only have around three/four clothes washes per week and other posters are doing laundry daily, sometimes multiple loads...

I'm always amazed by the laundry martyrs on here.

There are three of us - DP, me and 15yo DS. We do probably three loads a week - darks, lights and towels/sheets/randoms.

If it's not dirty or smelly here it doesn't get washed.

Or they have bigger families? And/or older children whose clothes are adult sized so fill a load more quickly?

Mine generally wear one a day but two on the days they have sport after school. DC3 gets through jumpers at a crazy rate though, will wear one but get hot so take it off, then cool down so get another thinner jumper, then decide to pop a cardigan on… they all just live on the end of her bed until the drawer is empty and she has to rewear them though, I refuse to wash them after an hour or two’s wear!

Teenagers have a lovely habit of not putting anything in the wash for ages then filling the basket in one go. It’s especially frustrating when I’ve run a not quite full load to get the uniforms done in time and then a load of stuff that could have gone in appears.

I agree here our school shirts usually last all week. The adults are rotated but usually last 5 or so wears. everything else is as dirty.

Ah, no I had to wash my brother's shirts every other week (took turns for uniform wash) they could have walked themselves to the washing machine 😷😷😷
