New job with NHS queries!

I have just started my new job as SNA on a ward with the trust. I feel a little disappointed. I have just been left to shadow my colleagues and my manager has not sat me down to discuss fire safety, rota, pay, training etc I don't know when my induction will be, I have no sign in details for the computers to check my rota so don't even know when I am working. I feel like my manager and all the nurses on the ward are so busy that I feel awkward asking!? Does anyone have this experience when they first started or any idea when the induction/training starts?
TIA xo

Is an sna like a hca (healthcare assistant)? I would ask for a one to one with the ward manager.

I'd e-mail your manager (who would have recruited you) for full details of induction, training. They should have all the information you need.

it's a senior nursing assistant post

I would be speaking to the ward manager.
I'm a band 3 and I have never heard a band 3 post referred to as a senior.
Yes we do tasks that band 2's don't but I'm not senior to them.

Where I worked all Healthcare assistants did the same job some were band 2 and others band 3 didn't make any difference except in their pay.
My log in for computer came from the training dept and they let the ward manager know when I was needed and he would send me off for any trainings and give me dates and locations for the classes (this included computer access). All the ward manager did was introduce me during handover and give me my work rota. I was assigned patients along with everyone else.

In the Trust where I work new staff are not allowed to start work until they have completed their Trust induction, including mandatory training (fire safety, manual handling, governance, waste disposal etc etc. ) and Trust guidance is that local induction (where things are, who to report sickness too, how to request annual leave, relevant policies and procedures for your department) should be completed within 2 weeks. I don't know whether that happens routinely - I am not clinical. We are in SW England, your place sounds like a nightmare!

Definitely speak to the ward manager. Even if they seem busy you need an induction ! Just say is there a convenient time I can meet with you. And in the meantime shadow your colleagues.
