Would you say these trainers from vinted are in "very good condition"

I bought these trainers from vinted
Altogether was £15 with postage
They arrived and they have yellow marks on them
Not sure if it's glue ?
Or meant to be like this ?
I don't think they are
Would you say these are very good condition?

my trainers purchase directly from retailer have those glue marks, it’s part of production process, it wouldn’t make me assume the seller had glued.

MissyB1 · 24/10/2024 11:29

Very cheeky not to show the glue marks on the original listing! That was done deliberately. For £15 I would put it down to experience, annoying though!

Lifeonttheedgggge · 24/10/2024 11:31

The trainers themselves are VGC but they should have shown and listed the imperfection. I’d be annoyed they didn’t make the yellow glue bit visible. They clearly did that on purpose. I would raise an issue if it’s a problem for you (I wouldn’t necessarily pay for a return but they might offer - it depends how much it annoys you and if you want them anyway). I’d also leave review stating this.

£15 means the seller sold for about £10 so you should have asked for more photos.
I would let you return but you pay postage.

orangegato · 24/10/2024 11:58

I’d describe them as VGC. What’s the issue? They’re second hand trainers if you want new then buy new?

Sia8899 · 24/10/2024 11:59

I’d be really annoyed if I bought new trainers with yellow glue marks. To me it looks like these are barely worn but quite old so the glue was clear but has gone yellow. Lots of shoes are made with a type of glue that needs to move or it becomes brittle and if they haven’t been worn for a long time the sole can peel off when they do get worn. So if I was your dad I wouldn’t wear them on a wet day

MiraculousLadybug · 24/10/2024 12:00

The listing photos look like a different pair of trainers, like different size (distance between laces and end of toe looks shorter), more padding around the ankle. Is it just me??

Chewbecca · 24/10/2024 12:01

I would call them VGC, I reckon they were bought and left in the cupboard unworn for a few years before realising they would never be worn. TBH, that's the reason behind most of my Vinted listings.

BuzzieLittleBee · 24/10/2024 12:04

They look pretty well worn in the listing pictures from the state/colour of the laces. In fact they look less well worn in your photos!

For walking the dog and for £15, and for keeping them out of landfill, they're fine.

MrsSkylerWhite · 24/10/2024 12:06

Look fine to me. You can’t expect perfection with used goods.

AYouProblemNotAMeProblem · 24/10/2024 12:10

They look like they been put through the washing machine- I've had this happen with glue on trainers in the past, after being washed.

yaddaoooh · 24/10/2024 12:14

@orangegato my issue was the glaring obvious yellow glue marks which weren't shown in the listing
I'm aware they are second hand trainers but the seller should of made it obvious in the listing they had glue marks

They look like factory seconds to me ( ie ones that didn't pass quality control checks)

Nothing wrong with this, especially at the price, but it was cheeky to deliberately hide the imperfections from you.

TipsyBrickPanda · 24/10/2024 12:19

I don’t think they are fake, I think they are old. Glue yellows as it ages.

You can actually see it if you zoom in on the listing photos. It’s partly hidden by lighting and angles.

Oh now you mention it, this happened to me once, too. A couple of years ago, I washed a pair of DS's trainers and all this yellow glue was everywhere. I thought I'd just never noticed it before.

sommerjade · 24/10/2024 12:27

If you were me I'd raise an issue as to me, £15 is a lot of money.

olympicsrock · 24/10/2024 12:30

Yes VGC but not the same pair of shoes

Gymmum82 · 24/10/2024 12:34

I think they are VGC. They are just old. I have some white adidas trainers which I’ve barely worn. The glue and some of the plastic has yellowed considerably. They definitely weren’t fake. They just yellow with age

Wexone · 24/10/2024 13:01

I think for 15e you got a bargain, You don't see the yellow when they are on
Its quite common to see glue on shoes wear away
