Just starting to plan work holidays for next year and things we can do, places to go. Starting to see Christmas decorations in shops. Any films/TV series/books on the horizon? What big and small things are you looking forward at his moment in time?

I'm looking forward to
Canasta night on Friday with wine
Lunch with my lovely friend on Saturday
Christmas... Because World's Strongest Man
Selling my house (hopefully)
My dd is home from uni for reading week next week
A gig in November, and I'm also thinking about taking a half day off work and going to see a show on a random Wednesday

going down to Lunnon on Sunday. got Van Gogh and Wicked booked, will probably go to Frameless, might take in a concert at Smith Square, will see what we can get from the Leicester Square ticket booth, have several fabulous looking restaurants in mind, will no doubt drink beer. And it's the two of us, so there might be a bit of the other, you never know Grin

Christmas. Plans not finalised yet but looks as if we might do something Different for Christmas lunch. Which will be odd, but I shall Embrace It.

Finishing my apprenticeship (I'm not looking forward to actually doing it, but it will be great when it's finished)

DD(7) and I are having a morning out just the two of us tomorrow, book shopping followed by brunch. Can’t wait!

I - wildly unfit - am training for a 5k run with a group, and slowly starting to feel the benefits. Should be up to doing parkrun in a month or so, which feels quite daunting.

I’ve just seen the most amazing adult Lego set, so now I have a birthday present to myself sorted.

Meeting up with a friend I haven't seen for years this weekend.

Lovely thread, thanks OP 😊

I'm looking forward to some time off work over half term, nothing planned but we might book a night or two away, or just enjoy being at home. DD1 is coming home the week after for reading week, and my birthday falls while she's back so we'll do something lovely together. My DH & DD2 have also booked the day off so it'll be a real treat! I also have some other nice meals & days out with friends to look forward to next month.

Towards the end of next month we should find out whether DH has a new job, which would mean a big move for us next year, so there might be much to look forward to in getting to know a new area, new people, new routines...a real adventure!

Oh, and I'm also looking forward to my new cuddle cushion being delivered tomorrow so that I can more comfortably scroll MN in bed 😀

Going to our Villa in the Canaries next month to celebrate my Birthday.
Going to see Jason Manford with friends.
Finally getting my bedroom decorated..
Just had new kitchen put in .. it's exciting buying new things for it... had a lovely designer doing a plant wall/ ceiling leading into the conservatory.. so looking forward to spending cosy times in there reading .

  • said trip with niece

Life is good 😊

Going to Florence on Sunday, I can’t wait to soak up the art, the history and the architecture.

But even more than that…next month I get my very own first horse! She’s beautiful and I can’t wait to be a doting horse mum 🐴

Amybelle88 · 23/10/2024 22:47

My kids having a week off and spending some good, quality time with us.

I love it when they're off, but very lucky that we can rejig our schedules to suit their school hols.

My baby's first Christmas! Took us almost 6 years to get pregnant, and now our miracle will be 7 months old on Christmas Day. I plan on filling the house with fairy lights and going for three trees instead of two this year! She loves twinkly lights, I can't wait for her to enjoy lots of them. I'm so excited!

Finishing my uni course next month (need to get off Mn and write the last assignment to make that happen but I do love to procrastinate). And seeing Alanis Morissette next summer. No summer holiday plans - will have to be last minute due to lots of unknowns.

Cattery · 24/10/2024 11:50

Seeing A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic
Christmas
My niece’s wedding in March (cannot wait!)
Lanzarote in June

piscofrisco · 24/10/2024 12:55

I'm oddly looking forward to gladiator 2 coming out. I loved the first one so much that I'm bound to be disappointed but at least it will get dh to the cinema with me-he never wants to go.

I'm looking forward to trimming up for Christmas, which is my chief pleasure. I'm a great trimmer-upper if I say so myself!

Noisyplace · 24/10/2024 12:56

Moving house. It's currently so stressful and just want to be in now.

EngineEngineNumber9 · 24/10/2024 12:58

@SquashPenguin Aww this is so gorgeous! And reminded me it will be my cousin’s baba’s first Christmas, too. I remember my nephew being obsessed with twinkly lights at that age 💖 I hope you have some cute Christmas outfits for her.

@CharlotteStreetW1 I’m so excited about it! My mum and I saw him about 20 years ago in Glasgow and he was brilliant then. New York State Of Mind is one of my all time favourite songs and to hear it live is mind blowing. Ugh he’s just amazing.

Totally materialistic but going back to Niketown tomorrow to buy some trainers I saw there today... 😍

But also going out for drinks with DH this weekend, parties and nights out I have booked in over the next 2 months and Christmas (the 2 whole weeks I'll have off work really!) 😁

They didn't have my size! 😫

I know nobody will care except me but it's so disappointing when you've been excited to buy something and then you can't!
