London transport/marathon question

Hello,
please help! My London marathon accommodation that had been booked by a friend was accidentally cancelled and now everything is very expensive. I’ve looked back at old threads and Jubilee line seems to be the line I want.
this is a simple question for a local… is Canary Wharf a good spot to stay? There’s hotels for a few hundred pounds cheaper to be found there.

Or any other suggestions. I am staring at a tube map but I have no concept of how far anywhere is. (Being dyslexic does not help) I have also never been to London.

Friend is no longer running, and to be fair probably just picked a hotel out of the sky to begin with.

I want to stay Friday to Monday ideally and would rather pay under 600stg total if possible. I’ll be entirely public transport reliant. I’ll have routes and everything planned to a tee pre race , it’s just the getting started is stressing me out.
many thanks

Canary Wharf would be fine for travel to the start but I would stay near the finish line if you can (I had jelly legs afterwards!).

I stayed at the premier inn Greenwich the night before (walkable to the start) and the premier inn hub Westminster afterwards (a short stagger from the finish). If you don't have anyone to move your stuff then I'd prioritise staying near the finish. The race doesn't start early and the tube is free on the day and you literally can't get lost, just follow the crowds!
