I have loads of washing, far too much to hang round the house. I never use the tumble dryer due to costs but I'll have to use it this time.
Its got a high and a low setting.

I have a mix of everything, towels, jumpers, dcs hoodies and joggers, underwear, jeans...etc

How best to take this in the tumble dryer?

I have been known to shrink dcs hoodies in the tumble dryer and dont want to do that again but they take forever to dry just on a clothes rail.

Similar weights together, but anything prone to shrinking on low. Really you should check labels.

A dry towel.in the load will speed it up. Don't overload so you can shake and fold when they are warm out of the dryer - no ironing.

Or just give things like sweatshirts a 30 min blast to start them off before hanging up.

Towels you can usually do on high. Bedding with plastic zips/poppers on low

Anything with elastic in it should be done on low. (Inc socks/jumpers).

if it's got glitter or embroidery or patches on it don't tumble dry it!

I don't tumble hoodies with zips as I find they go strange along the zip backing.

I'd hang things like hoodies on hangers on curtain rails. I don't tumble dry much and certainly not most of my clothes because it ruins them. I don't know how people manage to use them as a matter of routine without destroying their clothes.

In our old house we put bedding and towels over the upstairs bannister which was great but sadly it doesn't have enough space where we live now and I really miss being able to do that.

But isn't the weather OK for drying outside where you are today?

Check the care labels, will tell you whether can be tumble dried and whether high/low.

I hang duvet covers and sheets over internal doors to dry. Turning them over at least once.

I have the heating on. It's radiators so a lot of stuff goes on them.

The only things I tumble are things that don't have elastane in them as it damages the fibres apparently. So not jeggings, pants socks anything with a picture or logo on the front. Patterned material is ok though.

By the time you go through that most there may not be that much left to tumble!!

Tumble dryers are one of the biggest causes of house fires. Be careful. Do not ever go out and leave it on. I leave the door to the living room open so I can smell if it's burning. I'd never leave my pets locked in there with it on.

Towels can go on high.

for other things- if in doubt put them on the low setting
