What is accessibility like in NYC?

I’m going to New York soon and I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user… I’m wondering how difficult it’s going to be to get around in a large ish power chair- has anyone done this and could let me know?

I know cabs aren’t accessible… what are the pavements like?

Im trying to decide whether to invest in a smaller chair or a rollator, or whether to risk it with my usual chair!

My DD recently went. She has an electric wheelchair and can walk short distances with sticks.
I know they did use yellow cabs, they went to TimeSquare, Broadway and Central Park zoo. They went on a boat (out towards statue of liberty?).
However the hotel was really only semi accessible, tiny lift where she only just fitted and v narrow corridors (despite supposedly being acccessible).

Some subway stations have lifts but I’d check very carefully as I’ve found the distance between entrance and platforms can be quite a way. There are also only 36 accessible stations.
