Inattentive ADD and below average academically- what next after GCSEs?

My daughter is 14 and has inattentive ADHD. She's in Y10 and not doing that great academically. She's predicted 4 in most subjects except in Spanish where she's predicted a 7.

I'm not sure what would be the best for her after she completes Y11. She talks about going to university - but would that make sense for someone who doesn't excel academically? She hasn't got any particular interests that would fit into an academic discipline either.

If you or your children have inattentive ADHD and are thriving professionally, what did you do after GCSE? Thanks.

Travel and tourism industry may be good for her. Uses her talent for languages and no 2 days will be the same which will help the ADHD need for variety.

He’s at agricultural college doing an NVQ 3 in Animal Management.
There are loads of vocational college courses for the less academic, sports, health and social care, uniformed services etc.
What about an apprenticeship?

Thanks - I need to read more on apprenticeships.

What does she like?
There's a million paths for non academic people - things that have lots physical activity and variation too - what does she enjoy? What is she good at?

A levels are unlikely to be for her.

Try looking at your local FE college. They will have a whole load of vocational courses - most run open evenings where you can wander around and see what kind of courses they do.

My local one is very big - to give you an idea it offers courses in:

Traditional trades (brickwork, plumbing etc)
Mechanical stuff including car maintenance
Hair and beauty
Catering
Music performance and technology
Early years
Care of elderly
