Wedding sign, what would you think it meant?

Got to make a sign for a wedding.

The message is that beer, cider, soft drinks will be available from the bar for guests who dont want the wine or water which will be on the tables. The B&G are paying for the drinks from the bar.

BEER, CIDER AND SOFT DRINKS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE BAR WITH OUR COMPLIMENTS

LOVE

B&G

Is that clear enough please?

DH and I are discussing the wording as he isn't familiar with the use of the word complimentary to mean free.

As a non-alcohol drinker who gets absolutely SICK of drinking nothing but water during a meal because only wine and water are supplied - thank you for thinking of providing soft drinks!

I thought everyone know what 'complimentary' meant...

What was put in the invites? Usually "cash/card only bar" is in the invite. In all honesty I wouldn't bother with a sign and just ask the staff to say to guests when they ask for an alternative drink "the one with the meal is on the couple"

Its fine but another option would be: COMPLIMENTARY BEER, CIDER AND SOFT DRINKS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE BAR

In case anyone thinks 'with our compliments' means that they'll have to pay for the drinks but the person serving them will admire their hat.

This was DH's concern.

I am the veteran of many corporate events and assume complimentary to mean free rather than admiring!

Good point of making clear that the free bar is only during the meal. Though it is quite possible that the free bar will stay open longer if it doesn't get hit too hard during the meal.

I'm not anticipating there being too much problem with people taking the piss about drinks. For wine approximately 1 bottle per head has been calculated and this included children and known non-drinkers.

"During dinner service, complimentary wine and water will be served at the table with beer, cider and soft drinks available at the bar if you prefer!"

It was natural for us to assume that there would be plenty of people who would prefer soft drinks. Lots of drivers and a number of guests who just don't drink anyway.

I'm delighted to hear it - I am a sufferer from many many weddings, formal dinners, conferences, awards do's, that put a bottle of red and a bottle of white on each table, and a jug of water (which is mostly drunk by the alcohol drinkers who are spacing out their drinks), leaving those who don't drink sitting thirsty or having to go and search out a bar to buy themselves a coke (while everyone else's drinks are free). You're going to have a FABULOUS wedding!

@Vroomfondleswaistcoat (love the name!) I hope so. B&G have put a lot of thought into their wedding. The venue is great in the sense that it looks nice, the owners only do weddings, lots of things have been thought about to make sure that the day goes well. It also wasnt the most expensive of the possible venues!
