Newly vivid dreams - anyone else?

I've never been on for remembering dreams - luckily I've always been able to sleep on a washing line and not woken up in the night.
Last two weeks I've started dreaming awful, vivid dreams that leave me feeling like an emotional hangover feeling in the morning.
Do you know what I mean?
The dreams include all the main players in my life, past and present. (Eg, last night I had a dream involving my gran - she died aged 99 during COVID, but last night she was alive and kicking).
The dreams involve people I love (my gran) as well as challenging people from.the past.
Why am I dreaming now?

The only time in my life where I’ve had absolutely bonkers dreams - super vivid - was when I was pregnant. It was one of my first symptoms. Could you be expecting?

Circumferences · 19/10/2024 00:21

I was going to suggest perimenopause 😂

But pregnancy yeah maybe.

I'm really good at dream interpretation by the way. What was your beloved gran up to in your dream?

Peasnbeans · 19/10/2024 00:41

Omg no - my eldest is 18 and not relevant to my personal circs for 8 years!
Maybe peri, but unlikely as I'm 47 and bloods last month showed everything working v well.
I've been called for Jury service - stress?

Any new medication ?

No med.

Can't remember much, but Gran was looking at things, and then speaking to a crowd of my colleagues saying, "well I'm 101 and this is how it should be..."
Or something similar. Can't remember details.
Then there was DM (tricky character) in another one.
Then another night a distant ex appeared.
What's going on?!?

Family relatives appearing in dreams can often symbolise your place in your "other family" such as the workplace (or friendship group).

Are you feeling undermined?
Do you feel you have the experience and knowledge of a very advanced worker but this is not being recognised....?
Your DM appearing in your dream could represent a tricky project at work. It is possibly taking you back to feelings of insecurity and lack of self belief.
Don't be shy about being more assertive.

There's my dream analysis based on little detail!

I think everyone gets these kind of dreams but lots of people don't remember them. If your sleep gets interrupted them you are likely to remember the dream you were having at the time. I always have a recurring dream that I get just before I wake up needing the loo. I am running through an ancient and manky toilet block, trying to find a toilet but they've all either got no doors, no locks or no toilet roll.

I always have crazy dreams for a few weeks after I have had Covid

I tend to dream more vividly when I am under some stress. Sit and assess your current situation and see if there are any parts of your life that may have underlying causes. You say your DD is 18, is she physically or emotionally moving away from you? Maybe you are craving connections or worrying about those around you.

The stress theory is interesting,I've had dreams were I have to fill in forms online but can't do all the boxes no matter how hard I try..I was dealing with DWP and gave wealth of information and the person I was dealing with just didn't get it.

Have you taken anti histamines? I read on here they make you have crazy dreams.
