You all seem to get it in fewer guesses than I do. What's your strategy because I often go for conjunctions and small words that don't reveal the topic.

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 12/02/2025 12:09

look at pasage are there any obvious clues like a % or decreee sign? lots of brackets suggest different meanings or from an orignal language ( latin /greek)
I try and get general topic first so start with something like science or history, if science is orange try related words like power energy number nature maybe mathematics or medicine, element
if history goes orange try world century king people time
if neither I try things like language English culture God

sometimes other words like theory water animal plant food money trade war
i don't normally go for small words unless stuck though some small words can help like known (as) are better than and the of etc

But I like getting greens! 🤣😂🤣

Thank you xx

@MyrtleLion root words uncover other root words and singular words uncover multiples. Eg "be" will also uncover is, was, were, being etc. "it" uncovers they, he, she, its.

If you tap a blank word, the word length is shown in the blank space.

There are often formatting clues, brackets at the start with a colon after the first word show a translation, if the pre-colon word is 5 letters it's often Greek or Latin. If the words in the bracket are the pattern (XX XXXXX XXXX-XX XXXXXX XXXX) the bracketed words are usually birth and death dates so you're looking for a person.
