Salaries

Genuine curious what salaries is everyone else on and what job do you do? I assume consultant doctors earn more and bankers... But what else, I maybe need to change career and would like to direct my DC to appropriate careers.

Teacher friends (in fairness not senior leadership but established, 10+ year experience of classroom teaching) I know are on about £40k, friend in adult social care in mid £30's. Nurse pay I know can go up very high if you're a band 9 or something but generally £20's and £30's. I think?
The only person I know earning very high salary works in IT.
Thank you

It's quite easy to find out what different professions pay. Google 'accountant' and you'll find vacancies with the salary range for the role.

It doesn't take much time on Google to find out a senior banker earns about 10x that of a senior medical consultant. And nursing and teaching salary scales are available online, with all other public sector roles.

I'm not sure if random MNers posting personal information about their salaries is likely to be of much additional help.

NHS and teaching salary bands are readily available online.

Depends on what you’re wanting to change career for. If it is just to earn a lot of money I’d advise staying away from the public sector unless it’s a high up role in an organisation. As others say salary bands are available online.

Form of project management. Salary between 60-70k.

Hopefully not going to end up in the daily mail for saying, as others seem cagey 😅

I don't think people will post their salaries unless they're easily Googled anyway.

If this is genuine, why don't you post your qualifications and experience and people might be able to help.

Look at recruitment websites, knowing what I or anyone else here earns is meaningless unless it's a job with a rigid salary structure and if they are it's probably available online

There's no one salary for say a graphic designer

I wouldn't go directing your dc into a career path not of their choosing. It rarely ends well. Let them follow their strengths and interests, and support them in wherever they want to go and whatever they want to do.

This is the kind of thing I am curious about just like where the salaries are so varied and I don't really understands what they are doing!

Not from Daily Mail I hate it! Just was curious about jobs where you can get these huge discrepancies in pay or it says you can earn up to X amount.. as I saw in another thread about salaries. No offence intended at all I was just idly curious as I don't know anyone with these really well paid jobs. If that makes sense

In my experience a title can be hugely generic and it's the job description itself that determines a more specific salary

ie. The more complexity or specific experience can command a higher salary.

And some industries are notoriously well paid and the same for low paid. Public sector is often lower paid than private etc. IT and technical disciplines can definitely command higher salaries too. In my line of work a perk for me is a good salary without having to manage a team most of the time.
