I'm just so sad about the cost of heating.

I'm disabled and have raynauds so really feel it.
I have children and am on a low income/disability.

It's getting so cold and I've still not put the heating on at all because I'm trying to save it for when we really need it but the kids have said they're cold a few times and I've had to just tell them to watch a film in bed and put an extra layer on.

It's just so unaffordable

I wish I could just put it on and leave it on all day :(

It seems so unfair that gas companies are making such huge profits whilst people sit in the cold.

Also agree with heating a single room, wearing extra layers and looking into heated blankets etc

I’m not really sure how your bill doubled that sounds like high usage. We use 90 minutes in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. Then 1-2 hours in the day time due to working from home with thermostat set at 18/19.
We also dress well and use hot water bottles. I’d expect our gas to increase by about £80 and we haven’t started using it yet just put up with being chilly

I'm.very sorry you're in this position.

Our house is very cold - it is an old house with huge single glazed sash windows, no cavity walls, high ceilings etc. We heat ourselves, not the rooms. We both WFH so although we don't have illness or disability to contend with, we are at home all day sitting behind our desks and get cold.

I wrap blankets round myself which works well.

Gas prices are astronomical at the minute😒 If you are really struggling, lighting a couple of big candles can also help with heating a room
