Severe PGP… am I better with an ELCS?

As title, coming up to 36w and in agony with one hip in particular. I’ve had PGP since 20 weeks ish but it’s just been mainly the odd ache and niggle. Now it’s much different, the pain in my joint is really jarring and is making me wince with every step. It’s difficult to move even slightly in bed and getting up and down from a chair is agony, plus I’m really slow walking about everywhere.

It’s just occurred to me that this might be an issue for labour. I ideally want to be upright and in the birthing centre but not sure if being in pain with my hip will just make it all the worse.

Anyone who has or has had PGP previously, how was your birth?

I think you'll be ok. Labour is distracting enough that with gas and air (and any other pain relief you go for) you won't be so fussed about the hip.

My horrific completely debilitating pgp miraculously disappeared the day I went into labour. Woke up at 7 and was like huh it’s gone how weird. Went into labour at 12 really minor pains. Went to hospital at 2:30, had her at 3 no pain relief.
you don’t need to have ELCS if you don’t want one, won’t make any effect on your PGP - I think! Ask midwife though!

As PP mentioned, it goes when labour kicks in. Believe me the pain of contractions will trump any other pain you ever feel!
