Going out in half term but avoiding Halloween

My younger 3 struggle with sleep if we don't go out every day. Youngest is scared of all things Halloween related and tbh I try and avoid it as much as I can. I really don't like seeing little ones dressed up as dead bodies/zombies, it reminds me of when my youngest was born not breathing and the Dr showed him to me looking grey before they took him to nicu.

Anyway, I'm trying to organise stuff to do with the dc during half term and everything is Halloween themed. Even soft play is decorated with cobwebs and spiders. It seems to get more prominent each year, I'm sure Halloween was one day of optional trick or treating when I was young but now it seems to be everywhere for about 2 months. Hoping the weather will be ok and we can go to the park and in the garden without freezing and getting drenched.

I can understand not wanting to see zombies etc but cobwebs and spiders isn’t as scary surely?

It will be tricky to find places without some bits of Halloween decor but I would think most of it is quite innocuous, especially places aimed at small children. My local children’s library currently has leaves and pumpkins for example.

Thank you. Pumpkins are ok and some spiders (he doesn't like the ones with googly eyes as he thinks they are watching him. And he hates cobwebs.

Our local church does a light festival for kids. You may have similar near you.

I would also recommend having a look for local churches, a few round out way do half term activities aimed at families with younger siblings who want to avoid Halloween.
