Will this make him regress ?

So been potty training for 4 days, still not fully dry. He does well when he’s got just joggers/loose bottoms on or bare but when he has undies on is when he’s had accidents ? I heard though that the undies can feel like. Nappy to rhem

but with accidents he tells me as soon as he’s done one so doesn’t just sit in it. However we of course need him to say before he does something rather than have the accident

he goes to nursery tomorrow, their policy is 2 days dry, but will accept 3 days with one day having minimal accidents (aka 2 max) so I know he won’t cut that

which means it’s probably pull ups then :( I feel like that’ll make him regress he’s in for 3 straight days and don’t want him to come out and get used to going in a pull up / nappy

Anyone got tips? I can’t take time off so short notice I’m gutted I feel like we’ve really made some head way I don’t want to regress at all
they said I can bring his potty in still

so I assume they’ll keep trying with him

send him to nursery in joggers and no undies!

Thats a ridiculous rule for nursery they should help you support potty training. I would just say hea been dry for 2 days but please promt him to go - they usually do better at nursery as they see other kids going - not literally but just see other kids disappear to the toilet.

putting him back in pull ups will really confuse him.

Having children wee in settings is a health risk to others at the setting. Try really loose fitting underwear under clothes.

I just feel like I’ve failed if I put him in pull ups but then feel bad if I lie and he has more accidents because if he was completely dry accidents are normal anyway

never mind if he’s still having odd one

update I don’t think I can do undies we’ve just been on a walk went wel and as we got I. I was getting our coats away in cupboard he told me his pants wet
so I hadn’t seen the sign to take him potty quickly

so he’s telling me he’s done etc just not always telling me he needs to end the undies aren’t helping

i feel so deflated how can I help him :(

I recently trained my toddler and his sister a year ago and here are my suggestions:

send him to nursery in joggers with no underwear underneath.
if your nursery allows it, send a carry potty or normal potty in with him and ask for it to be put somewhere close to his room
or in his room so it’s not as far as the toilet when he needs to go.

Also, in my experience, children tend to have way more accidents in nursery when they are in the early stages of potty training then they would at home. It’s an environment they are not used to being in when trained, they need to remember to ask to go to the toilet, lots of noise and distractions etc. Both mine had loads of accidents early on in nursery and none at home. I hope your nursery will be supportive.
