White bobbles on my swimming costume

I wonder if anyone also has this issue with their swimming costume?
After a little time, a few months, my costume , in a few places, seem to develop white bobbles. It looks old/dirty in these areas when they appear. I really dont know why. I buy decent costumes , typically £35 each.
Anyone got anything to say ??

I've had similar happen to my costumes in the past, and it tends to be worse on darker coloured ones. I think it might be to do with the lycra / stretchy stuff in the fabric breaking down, and when this happens it looks like tiny white bobbles.

Ok , glad I am not alone. Thing is, it happens when the costumes are still quite new

Are you washing the chlorine out in a proper wash, not just rinsing them out? Chlorine will degrade the material over time.

Ahhh, I see.No, I am not, I typically just rinse. I will try that, thanks!

It's the Lycra/elastane breaking down. It's the chlorine that does it. You def need to rinse the swimsuit every time. Also if you swim regularly it's better to invest in a high quality swimsuit as they tend to last longer. Some of them are also meant to be chlorine resistant.

Perishing elastic. Wash your costumes well, especially after using them in chlorinated or salt water.
