Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just having my first cuppa of the day, with dd1. I'm in my kitchen spot & she's sat opposite me chattering away.

I think today will be a very slow & moochy kind of day here. Yesterday was hard all round. Plus the weather looks awful, although it doesn't seem to be raining at the moment.

I want to get some more things listed on Vinted maybe, before I ask my dad to take the unsold items to the charity shop at half term.

Tea will be something quick and easy from the freezer, followed by fruit and ice cream or cream 😋

What about all of you? 😊

Good morning everyone!
It's a bright crisp autumn day here but like a few of you, I'm fighting off the beginnings of a cold and hoping I can stave it off.
Drove DD to work as she's 9 til 1 today; the original plan was to meet somewhere for lunch once she'd finished then she wants to start/continue her Christmas shopping, but I'm not really up to it because of said cold - and don't get paid til next week - so DS is going to meet her on his own instead. He's still in bed.
DH has gone off on the train to Milton Keynes to some model railway exhibition, he went yesterday and won't be back til around 9 tonight.
DD made breakfast for herself and for me of sausage and scrambled egg. I added some onion to mine and then had some bread and honey. Then DD had to load the dishwasher as my nose was trying to run.
I've put some washing away and put another load on, but i have to keep sitting down to rest. I have had drinks of tea, beechams lemon (works better than lemsip for me!) and ribena - and I appear to have finished off the strawberry cremes I got from the Ringtons man yesterday!.
May need more tea soon!
Have a good day everyone

Morning all, it’s been a rubbish week here, I’m recovering from Covid and DD (19) is struggling to come to terms with her ADHD and BPD diagnosis which she received this week after 7 years of trying to get to the bottom of her mental health problems. She has the day off work so was up late with a friend last night. Will be a while before they resurface. I was up at 6 and couldn’t get back to sleep so I’ve cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, done the washing and unpacked the Tesco delivery. Planning to catch up on some podcasts today, will make pizza for dinner and eat in front of strictly. A nice lazy day, much needed!

I'm still in bed, but about to get up. Had a terrible night's sleep. DS had a job interview at 6am (yes really) so I was awake on and off all night.
Cancelled my dance class and slept once he was home.
My plan for today is just sorting the garden.

Then strictly and a glass of red. Dinner as yet undecided. The shopping is due soon.

@DilemmaDelilah - we got the cheeks back, we gifted the heads and trotters to the slaughterman/butcher! There's an awful lot of unidentifiable meat so lucky I got given a sausage machine for my last birthday... 🙄

Happy Saturday to everyone 😊🍁
I’m still in bed recovering from a cold/Covid or whatever it is. Have had my usual pot of tea but don’t fancy anything to eat.
One lot of washing is on the go and then plan to do a bit of cleaning and later a bit of studying too. But I need to go slowly and rest up as much as I can as I have an important presentation to deliver on Monday.
DH is cooking pasta for lunch. Will watch a film later on Netflix.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

Thank you, I hope so. This is the 5th time he has broken things off, and it's my birthday in a few days too 🙄 I need to be strong this time and not let him talk me round once he's bored of whatever he's doing...

Afternoon all.

Just back from swimming lessons / bakery / park. Found out today the older kids swimming teacher is leaving (next week is his last week!) and we're all gutted. DC2 has been with him for 2 years - she is in his academy class - and DC1 has been is his academy class for a year. We're all very attached.

Just made lunch - beans on thick slices of bread (the kids said the bread was too nice to be toasted 😁)

The plan was to go for a bike ride later but DC2 is complaining of a sore foot. Hoping its nothing serious? She cannot recall injuring it but she swims, plays football, does gymnastics and ballet so she needs her feet not to be sore!!

So we may well just have a lazy afternoon.

I have a load of chores to get on with so I may stick a film on for the kids and crack on.

Dinner will be homemade chicken kebabs with salad and dips (homemade humous and tzatziki a gift from my wonderful Greek neighbour!!) and I'm very excited 😊

Morning all from Portugal,

Raining here today, usually work Saturday mornings, but not today so had lie in until 9, whilst Dh watched Dd. He’s taken her to an indoor play place and for lunch, I’ve been watching Lisa and Johns cooking show thing 😅and have put a beef stew thing in the slow cooker for tonight.
Dds neighbour friend is coming over later to make Halloween biscuits and watch a 6 year old friendly Halloween film (any suggestions welcome!) with popcorn and the biscuits. We’ll then have the slow cooker dinner watching Strictly, Dd loves doing her own scores, then early to bed with Dd, not exciting but what’s needed at the moment!

DilemmaDelilah · 12/10/2024 12:53

@Eyesopenwideawake people make brawn from pigs heads, and trotters are good to eat as well I think, but I confess I'm not entirely sure I would want to go to the bother of cooking them when I don't think I would want to eat them. Good call with the sausage maker! Did you get the offal as well? I forsee a delicious pate or terrine or several being made at your house - and a delicious Christmas ahead!

Oooh! Whereabouts in Portugal are you? I'm near Tomar, where it is also raining!!

No offal, not a fan. But I am rendering down a massive pot of fat to make lard 😊
