Weird and random things our bodies do

I had a c section 3 months ago and ever since then the top of my back has been so itchy I can barely stand it, nothing relieves it and it's driving me mad. It's from the bottom of my neck, shoulder to shoulder and goes down to a little above the middle of my back.

Can anyone explain this? Is there anything I can do to fix this? (I've tried everything and I'm ironically allergic to antihistamines). Failing that can ou share anything weird your body does to distract me from the itching!

Have you spoken to your GP?

The spinal anaesthetic given at caesareans often makes you itchy, but I assumed that would go within a day or two! Can you see if there's a rash there?

I've got a patch just above the knickerline which if I scratch it, it makes my shoulderblades itch. Wonder if you've got a similarly crossedwired nerve that's been damaged in the c-section and keeps firing? Like pp said, take it to the GP and ask about "referred pain" which is what this might be.

Yes, there's a name for it, but I can't remember what it is offhand. It's due to irritation of a nerve. I'll try to find it.
