Please help me with my ‘bare minimum’ homeware list

DP and I have moved into a property overseas. It has all main furniture (bed, sofa, table and chairs etc) but no kitchen equipment etc. We are likely only going to be here for just under a year so would prefer not to buy loads when we can’t take it home with us but equally don’t want to be miserable all year because we don’t own anything.

What is a good bare minimum, essentials list of equipment kitchen for someone who cooks daily but nothing majorly fancy? Obviously a few mugs, glasses, plates, bowls. Can we get away with just one frying pan and one saucepan? What utensils do you think a kitchen really needs? Please help with a list!

I would say two saucepans - one for rice, one for whatever you're doing with rice. One good knife and one chopping board. Peeler or small knife. Grater. Strainer or pot that comes with a lid that has holes to drain food. Pyrex dish for tray bakes.

I could definitely cope with that.

1 frying pan, 2 saucepans, 2 baking trays, cooking utensils, set of knives, some sort of blender (stick or other), grater, mixing bowl, 2 chopping boards, peeler

Bread knife
Chopping board/worktop protector
Small sharp knife
Grater
Large glass casserole dish with a lid, the dish can double as a mixing bowl
Kitchen scissors
Can opener
Wooden spoon
Roasting tin
Oven/pizza tray
Colander

Utensils - a spatula, a wooden spoon, a whisk, a rolling pin (not just for baking, but eg flattening meat)
2 x saucepans with lids, frying pan, colander, grater, peeler, chopping board, 2 decent knives
We would also have a jigger and a corkscrew but I appreciate that’s not for everyone.

Is there somewhere to put hot pans? If not, make one of the chopping boards a wooden one and it can also be a trivet.

If you’re overseas, enough crockery that you can host friends and family who come to visit, on the basis that they’ll come over even if they are staying in a hotel.

Two saucepans
Tin opener
Bottle opener
3 decent knives

Wooden spoons
Tongs
Baking trays / sheets
Mixing bowl
Saad bowl

I wouldn't want to live like a student with one pan and a wooden spoon!

I always look at a student going to uni, type list.

Toilet brush. A nice new one.

Assuming you won't be baking, my ideal list would be . . .
Big pan and small pan with strainer lids
Frying pan
Baking tray
Chopping board (two if you eat meat)
Knife and knife sharpener
Veg peeler
Measuring jug
Small scales or cups
Spatula/spoon
Fish slice (eternally usefully for all sorts)
Grater

I personally like a garlic crusher and herb chopper too, but a knife would do. I don't ever use a tin opener or a rolling pin!

Maybe keep a list of everything you use when you're cooking overthe next week and see what's on it?

In the caravan we have one frying pan and two saucepans of different sized. We have around six mugs and the same of glasses - 4 tumblers and two wine glasses.

Spatula
Big cooking serving sppon
Wooden spoon
Oven gloves
Tea towels
Kitchen towel x 2
2 x chopping board
Kitchen knives of diff sizes
Salt and pepper mills
Max of 4 plates and bowls
A couple of those systema plastic pots with lids
Couple of glass bowls for microwave
Microwave cooking kit
Kettle
Coffee machine
Colander
Bigger bowl for salads and stuff
Something to put fruit in.

That's it. Seems quite a lot written down.

Washing-up bowl, or make sure there's a plug for the sink. Coffee maker? Have you thought of storage containers for dry ingredients? Tin opener.
