Arachnophobia! Jokey but a bit scary too.
(But don't watch it yourself if you're not keen on arachnids...🕷️)

One of the Jurassic park films. Can’t remember if Anchorman is on the more adult side. Marvel film?

caringcarer · 11/10/2024 16:39

Any of the Marvel films, transformers or similar.

Goonies, Back to the Future, Stepbrothers. Or unexpectedly, ds and his mates absolutely love Johnny English.

Never mind the 12 year olds, some suggestions here that I'm definitely going to rewatch. (not mine!)
Dodgeball in particular had me helpless with laughter.

RaspberryBeretxx · 11/10/2024 16:52

I agree with Jumanji. They've probably seen them but Harry Potter? One of the more recent spider men films. Top gun maverick?

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 11/10/2024 16:54

I'll second Dodgeball, gave it a rewatch last week and it made my inner 12yo laugh his head off.

12's a difficult age for films, what they probably want to watch is the Marvel, Jurassic Park type stuff, but they'll all pretend its too babyish for them in front of each other.

A comedy like Dodgeball is probably the best bet. It'll seem quite adult to them, but it's a 12a and does have some positive messages hidden under all the slapstick and gross out humour.

Paul (funny, not too scary at all)

I'd be a bit careful with Paul- it's not scary but if I remember correctly is rather sweary. (I think it's a really funny film, but I know some parents would be annoyed if their DC were allowed to watch something with loads of F ing in it)

SomethingFun · 11/10/2024 17:15

Marvel, Star Wars, dungeons and dragons, lord of the rings if it’s an all-nighter 😁

EscapeTheCastle · 11/10/2024 17:52

2012

End of the world films are scary but this one is rated 12a
