What Minor catastrophe ruined your day?

This morning i for some reason put 2 sugars in my coffee instead of one, and now its undrinkable, tastes awful, all i can taste is sugar.

This has clearly ruined my day, because now i have no coffee and have to wait to get another.

What tiny thing going wrong has ruined a day of yours? (lets keep it lighthearted)

I have had my Covid and flu vaccine and both the tops of my arms hurt and it is all I can taste

I'm on a beach in the med and we've had a few clouds.

Ohh you poor thing, you definitely win this thread 😁

Accidentally applied for a credit card in my maiden name.

I somehow forgot to brush my teeth this morning before leaving the house (I have NEVER done this before) so I had to go to Sainsbury’s to buy a brush and toothpaste. Which will now be living in my cupboard at work in case it happens again.

I've lost a packet of bacon. I made a bacon sandwich last night. It was a new pack bought specifically to entice me to eat something when I got in after meeting some friends for drinks, so I know I opened it last night and didn't use it all (plus the pack isn't in the bin.) I wanted bacon for breakfast, but the bacon is not in the fridge and I can't find it anywhere.

My nails have chipped. Gels and only a week and a half on. Nothing annoys me on myself more than chipped nails and I'm going away for the weekend right from work so no time to get them fixed. I will be looking at them and being annoyed all weekend.

Sharontheodopolodous · 11/10/2024 15:44

I caught a bug at the start of this week and still feel rotten
Dp caught the same bug (from me) and is dying
Nobody can be more ill than he is
He's spent the last two days in bed, sighing, moaning and wearing the dressing gown of doom over his clothes
We have nothing in,so I've had to do a full shift at work and walk to tesco (my arthritis is killing me) while he lays in his deathbed
He's normally fab and does his full share-unless he's ill...

Does this really work? I took a load of things out the storage and they smell like mildew

It hasn't worked for my things...gone through two washes with vinegar now. Might be better to soak them in diluted vinegar solution (don't use neat vinegar as it can bleach things) if that's feasible. I'm going to hang mine out and see if some fresh air will help.

The sun is shining into my kitchen so I'm having to move seats as it's getting in my eyes. I don't like the other seat as it isn't my seat.

Oh I hate this. My seat faces the window so am constantly blinded. Ruins many a relaxing morning coffee😞

Toddler DS got into the Sudocrem.

😱

I remember my nephew doing this 😂 I never used it so the worst I got was baby wipes emptied. Everywhere😭

CarrieMoonbeams · 11/10/2024 16:37

I asked the owner if I could speak to a teeny tiny puppy in the street. She smiled and said "yes of course!"

Puppy completely blanked me 😢.

My teenage son clogged the toilet..... again. Same yesterday. Just spent half an hour poking around with an old garden cane to unblock the loo 🫣

Dump some soda crystals and white vinegar in the toilet and let it fizz for 20 min before you flush. If it needs extra help add boiling water before flushing. Hasn't failed me yet!

I've been up from 1:30 (pregnancy insomnia) and my coffee had too much milk (which was decaff, because I'm pregnant), and my toddler has kindly shared his cold with me #getthebabyout

shellyleppard · 11/10/2024 17:57

@UnravellingTheWorld thank you I will get some tomorrow 💐🙏🫂 hope you feel better soon and baby arrives safely x

shellyleppard · 11/10/2024 17:58

@UnravellingTheWorld we think there is a problem with the actual u bend, it's very shallow and clogs easily 🤢😂

UnravellingTheWorld · 11/10/2024 18:08

@shellyleppard oh that's unfortunate! I find new toilets have very narrow pipes and insufficient flushes.

As he's a teenager I'd be inclined to make him sort it himself!

shellyleppard · 11/10/2024 18:13

@UnravellingTheWorld he was in a rush to get to college ((2 hours journey each way) so I've just had a word with him..... again 😀

ginasevern · 11/10/2024 18:21

I was about to sell my car, turned the key and the alternator had gone. It was running like a dream 2 days ago. It's an old car (2007) but in really good nick and I had an offer of £500. Still, at least I haven't passed on the problem to someone else so my conscience is clear!

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 11/10/2024 18:53

A message on my GP website saying they will no longer prescribe diazepam for anxiety of flying. I understand their arguments but I only take one 2mg tablet (the lowest dose) - just takes the edge off. I'm panicking already.

Laughing at the lost bacon Grin

I chipped my second favourite pottery mug. It was a doozie too.

Soonenough · 11/10/2024 19:14

Curry sauce was too thick so I added more water . Now it tastes too watery .

TulipTuesday · 11/10/2024 19:18

I was given the choice to leave work a bit early today as I’d made up some extra time. I thought it would be nice to take a look at the market close to work where I’d never been before so took up their offer.

The market was rubbish. Then my train was late. Waste of time.

ChannelLightVessel · 11/10/2024 19:18

DCat2 has lost his collar, which I purchased less than 3 weeks ago, and had a personalised tag from the RSPCA. DCat1 is very impressed.

If you've a lot of stuff that smells foisty, get an ozone generator. They're what hotels use of someone has smoked in a bedroom.

PullUpTheDrawbridge · 11/10/2024 20:05

My car battery died and I missed meeting friends trying to jump start it.

HappyDane · 11/10/2024 20:26

@Soonenoughit'll cook down nicely! @NigelHarmansNewWife thanks!
