How old were you when you got married and what was the year?

2014 age 30 for me which seems pretty old.

2006 and I was 31. We'd been together 7 years prior to that.

42 in 1996.
My mother was 17 when she got married in 1936.

24 in 1991

24 in 1990. I'd be horrified at the thought of anyone getting married so young now, but it was the norm back then.

24 in 1984. Our Ruby wedding anniversary coming up.

2002, 40.

1988 at 24

2011, 38. I can't imagine having been married in my 20s. I know a couple of friends who did that, but not many. Most were early 30s.

Age 26, 2009. Married 15 years

2012 we were both 40

19 in 1985.

25 in 2018… much earlier than most of my friends, most of whom aren’t married now in our early 30s.

1979 me 22 him 21. Been together from school. Still very happily married.

20 & 28 & never again

We got married in 2022 and I was 24. We’ve been together since I was 18.

1996, and I was 22. Still married.

Just turned 25. 1990

Last year - I was 37, DH was 45. Of our large social circle, everyone in similar age bracket, we’re only the second couple to get married - so your 30 doesn’t seem “old” to marry to me at all!

I was 28 and DH was 30 which feels like a pretty average age to get married. Definitely not old and not too young. We'd been together since early 20s. Still going strong!

It didn't last long thank goodness.

Age 24 in 1980 (divorced 2003, never married since).

I got married at 22 in 1984. That was about the average age back then. My sister wasn't married until 29 and my mother was terrified that she'd never be married or that "people would think she was a lesbian"

My daughter finds it hard to believe that I got engaged at 21 to somebody I didn't love just because I was scared that nobody else would ask me.

2017, both had just gone 30. Most of my friends got married 2/3 years before aged 27/28
