Honestly drowning in kids clothes and shoes and washing/drying etc we have winter clothes and summer clothes. Any tips or ideas?

Don't wash so often.

Double the number of wears except underwear.

School shoes, trainers, sandals, wellies.

Why would the amount of their clothes increase your washing?
Surely they still only wear a normal amount each day?

Have less

Bar some seasonal things, almost all our clothing is worn all year around.

My two kids have loads as I buy them in second hand bundles and sell off what they grow out of. All clothes are worn 2 or 3 times before they go in the wash, any food stains can be wiped with a sponge. I refuse to wash 3 loads a day for the sake of it, everyone has different circumstances though.

What are they wearing?
5 X shirts, jumpers and trousers for school
Pe kits
Extra curricular sports wear
Weekend clothes
PJs

They don't need much, or are they getting changed after school into clothes and then again into PJs? In which case I'd keep them in their uniform.

You can always put summer stuff in a suitcase away for the winter if you need the space

Uniform wash on a Friday 1 x white shirt wash, 1 x dark, shake and hang up on a clothes rail to dry - I find this reduces crease better than an airer or tumble dryer. I'm sure its not great for the iron but I often iron straight out of the washing machine, hang up on the clothes rail and when dry they can go away straight away.

Weekend clothes / PJs go in the wash on Sunday pm

Honestly - not that much! They wear school uniform and have one set per week of "after school clothes" - joggers/ t shirt or a onesie in winter.
For DS he likes sports kit which dries really quickly, plus fleece jumpers.
They grow out of it so quickly I prefer to buy about 5 different outfits and rotate/ mix and match (Boden is good for this). They wear vests under their clothes usually so get two days out of them. DD loves a dress so her summer ones become winter ones with tights and a cardigan.
Get rid of anything that has been out grown or is old/ holey/ stained and just keep what they wear.
Three sets of pyjamas (night wear seems to breed and DD would put on clean every night if I let her) change every 3 days, they bath every night before bed.

School uniform - I have enough for a week (but recycle things that aren't dirty - don't wash them for the sake of it) I do the majority of my washing at the weekend, one mid week wash to keep the basket down (shove everything except whites with a colour catcher).

Shoes, school, trainers, slightly nicer shoes for weekends, crocs for swimming, wellies.

My son is 8. He has school uniform plus 3 pairs long trousers,4 pairs shorts, 6 t shirts and 4 long sleeve cotton tops.

One hoodie. One “formal” non school polo shirt.

3 shortie pyjamas and 2 long sleeved/trousered ones.

DS seems to live in tee shirts and joggers. When I've bought him jeans, smart trousers etc, he doesn't want to wear them. So I tend to be minimalist with clothes purchases now. Only new things he's had lately are school uniform and a winter coat.
