Following on from the previous thread.

The thread had got to discussing Dr Dewi Evans, whether he was impartial, and questions about some of the evidence he presented and if he is now backtracking.

Also discussions around LL behaviour - FB searches, keeping notes, hanging around amongst those mentioned.

It has posters who have faith that the legal system have been thorough and therefore justice has been done and others who feel that there are too many holes in the evidence. Plus the odd discussion around the legal system as a whole.

I find this case so desperately sad. The main thing that struck me was that LL seems such an unlikely candidate for causing chaos and tragedy. Usually, in a big case, dozens of stories come out after the verdict and we see how the perpetrator has long been on the trajectory of doom. Beverly Allitt, for example, was clearly desperately unwell, had minimal nursing qualifications, and quickly came unstuck. But in the LL case, absolutely nothing has come out. In fact, friends and neighbours have stayed loyal.

If LL is indeed a serial killer, I would so like to understand what caused her to kill. It would help us prevent any such recurrence.

I also found unsettling the revelations of bullying towards LL revealed in the inquiry. All the nurse death references etc. She may have been slightly alternative in fact I think she was, which possibly put her on the edge of the crowd.
The expert for the prosecution has constructed his evidence around what he thinks happened he's already wobbled on evidence regarding Baby C and I would not be surprised if his evidence on the other cases comes down like a pack of cards as well.
The second trial was a farce the only verdict ever going to be reached was guilty.

The inquiry is running at the minute and the "nurse death" comment was brought up specifically. This was by a junior at the time who noticed the presence / link between Letby and a number of deaths. Yes it could have been articulated better but it's not bullying. It's an observation and a correct one.
