Which is best - ebay or Vinted?

I have a huge pile of good condition clothes and shoes (mens, womens and childrens) I want to try and sell (they are mostly high street brands). I've never really used ebay or Vinted before.

I was just going to try Vinted as everyone tells me it is so easy, but then I equally see people saying that you don't get much on there and it's full of people who want something for nothing and ebay is much better.

So - are there pros and cons of both? Or can I list on both simultaneously (bit worried about selling both at once if I do that)?

I prefer Ebay as the auctions are more exciting. Didn't really take to vinted, although my daughter loves it. And yes, vinted people seem to want everything really cheaply.

Vinted, no extra fees for the seller

The trouble with eBay is it's hard to even break even. They take fees for everything. Unless you've got something that will sell for a decent price it's not worth it.

I feel like older people use eBay and vinted is for younger people so depends what you're selling.
Im in my 30s and never think to check eBay even though I grew up with my parents using it all the time

I love Vinted, but you have to protect yourself against the unscrupulous people (few and far between). Make sure you take lots of photos and accurately describe your item. Also make sure to package well so they can't claim damaged in transport and keep for free.
I highly recommend not using Royal Mail for shipping as it's not integrated.

On eBay I sold an item for £35 plus £8 postage
From that £43, I got £37 and paid £7.50 postage from that.
Ultimately getting £29.50 from £43

If it was vinted, I'd of gotten all £43, then paid postage from that.

Ebay have scrapped selling fees btw.

Thanks - that's what I thought. I assume the people talking about fees are talking about historically?

I only buy, but I'm in love with Vinted. I have bought so much from there. I don't have the app.

Ebay is saturated in my (humble) opinion. I don't have the app for that either.

Considering that I do not use the app for either platform, Vinted is 10 x easier to use as a buyer than Ebay. Listings on Ebay come in column form and that is actually harder to use and feels old. Vinted is more like a poster form. You can see lots of items at once.

Yes people may want things cheaper on Vinted, but that's because the buyer pays not just postage, but a 'protection' fee which hikes up the cost of the item to the buyer. The seller still gets the full money. Since Ebay has just introduced 'no selling fees' (in order to win share back from Vinted and Depop) the exact same thing will eventually happen there.

So imo you're better off selling on Vinted.

But plenty of buyers list the same items on both platforms, but tend to ask more for the ebay listing to cover the fees. So why not just use both simultaneously, now that fees are also removed from Ebay?
