What do you do at night when your kid is sick?

DD 11 has a stomach bug and has thrown up a few times this evening. Her room is on a different floor of the house and I'm wondering whether I should go and sleep downstairs so I can be nearer to her. DH thinks I'm being over the top and to just let her sleep and she'll be fine - she can shout if she needs us.

Do you sleep in with your kids if they're sick or leave them to it?

There's no way I'd be bringing a vomiting child into my bed!

Nor sending my husband into one that is covered in sick

This bin liner tip is GENIUS!!!!

If you double, triple or even quadruple line it, even better! That way you just remove one and bin and the next one is ready to go!

I always have them come into my bed, or share the spare bed with them if they are sick with a vomiting bug or even a high temp. I know someone whose child became very unwell during the night and choked on his own vomit so I'm extra cautious. Health anxiety initiated!

I find that so, so strange. It's your child. Their immune systems are still developing. I don't think I've ever caught a sick bug off my kids and they are old now. And if you are going to get it, chances are it won't matter if they sleep with you or not.
