I need tips for selling on Vinted

I do have a number of clothes cluttering up my wardrobe and all sorts of things cluttering up my house that I don’t use that I want rid of. I could potentially make some money from this. I need some tips for getting interest and I’m also thinking ahead and I am worried about buyers claiming things that aren’t true or damaging my things to get my items for free. How can I best protect myself?

Use eBay!! Always found it a brilliant selling platform. Also odd things through Facebook marketplace.
Lots of issues with buying on Vinted, so wouldn't bother selling there!

Gosh I've found the complete opposite. Nobody looks on eBay anymore and vinted is so much easier to upload and sell.

I sell lots on Vinted and Ebay. Both have their own issues but I've not really come across anyone trying to blag their money back etc.

Make sure you take good clear pictures and several of them ( hung up, ironed and against a plain light background if possible)

Make sure to include any faults in the description to avoid issues

List for a little more than you'd be happy with as people do love to knock a few quid off.

If someone favourites you item and you've had it on a day or two send them an offer

Post quickly

I wouldn’t sell anything of big value on there just in case you end up losing the item and the money. Just make sure photos and descriptions are fair and accurate.

Lots of photos, cut off any loose threads. Check for missing buttons etc. Write a good amount of detail and be honest. The advice is to be detailed so people can find what they want more easily.

Vinted is renowned (ime) for being cheap. I’ve just bought 2 x pairs of Hush Puppies for £14 total. They’re about £80 new, so don’t expect loads unless you have lots of designer gear. I sold velvet jackets for slightly mad money on eBay this time last year-£30 for a second hand jacket, but they were size 26 which seemed very popular.

I’ve made about £300 selling pretty much my entire wardrobe this year, trousers at £5 mostly, for example. Start a bit higher as people like to think they’ve got a bargain so will quite likely to offer less.

Be honest about the condition and any flaws. Remember that the buyer has to pay a fee and postage on top of the price you charge so price so it's still a bargain. Iron the clothes before taking a pic!

Iron the clothes
take photographs of the labels on clothibg
list any faults
upload a couple of items a few times a week
do a search for similar items don’t just go with the Vinted price suggestion
it is free to sell on eBay now as well

Clear photos and descriptions. I list 3-4 items a day over a week and that seems to help bring attention to items. List similar items together. I look to see what others are selling the item for and either sell slightly less or the average price depending on item.
