I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The kittens are dashing about like loons & no one else is up yet so it's semi-peaceful 😊

I'm just going to sit here for a while in the quiet before getting sorted to take dd2 to Specsavers at midday & dd1 to the bank to change her account. I'll potter a bit putting washing in, washing up, and tidying round too, so it's not there to come home to.

Both girls will have homework so they'll probably get on with that after town & then we'll have homemade burgers for tea 😋. Accompanied by a glass of red for me 🍷

My plan for tonight is to either sit down with my crochet for a while, or one of my books 🤔 Not sure which yet.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. It sounds like a nice day ahead for you. I've been up for a while, had two coffees and a cuppa with a slice of toast. I've been suffering from a virus and I'm still not great, so a fairly low key day ahead. The bedding is in the washing machine and I have a few dishes to wash up. I'll potter about and do some housework when I feel like it. Have a good day all.

Just Come back to bed. Have got Covid and it’s kicked my arse this week. Boys are at football, I went downstairs and hoovered, unloaded the dishwasher and came back up for a shower and I think that’s me done for the day. Totally exhausted. Currently lying on my bed in a towel.

Travelling day today. En route to Manchester Airport then flying to Turkey for an extremely lazy fortnight in the sunshine. My husband is starting a new job when we get back after a period of serious illness so it feels like a new chapter in our lives after a turbulent few years. Feeling very optimistic - this is usually the cue for a thunderbolt but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

Well I’m currently trying to find some motivation to start wall paper stripping. It’s the start of a long job that will leave the house in chaos so I’m reluctant to start!

hubby at work till midnight, son at paper round then math class, daughter about to go to work so at least it will be quiet 🤐

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. Slow start here but enjoying that as it's been a hectic few weeks. Had pain au chocolat for breakfast and going to wash my hair and do some skincare etc whilst DD watches noisy Americans on YouTube! Will try and persuade her to do some of her homework. Possibly limping round to a friends later - (done something to my knee so not very mobile) DD and friends DD can play whilst we catch up. This evening will be Strictly, glass of wine and maybe a takeaway dinner

We actually do a blend of apple and pear. We have several different varieties of each. Gives the cider a bit of depth. It normally comes out at around 4-5% so not a dangerous brew.

I'm making pancakes for brunch. We had a very slow start today, but rarely for a Saturday we have all been at home this morning.

We are taking DS out for a new laptop and some clothes which could be awful but 🙏 not.

Football on TV at teatime so fajitas with that

We need to do some tidying in the garden before the garden bin stops for the winter, so we should do that while the 🌞 is shining

The day is just running away. I done a little bit of work this morning. Went to make a chocolate cake and we have no eggs! Dd has kindly offered to pop out and get some. Dh is away out for the day. Whilst waiting for the eggs I've started making a cottage pie and lentil soup for today's lunch and dinner.

Need to get ddog out for a walk at some point. Then going to put the log fire on and cosy up with a book or a old film.

Hi all, had the dogs out for a walk this morning, did a bit of housework, family have gone to a retail park to buy a few things.
This afternoon going hospital for visiting time.
Back home then, cooking pie and chips.
Not doing much today really.

It’s been a busy morning here so far. Took dog to the vet early-ish with DH for her monthly jab. Quick nip into supermarket. Then came back and unloaded dishwasher etc and put some washing on.

We are having some work starting in the living room on Monday and it will involve completely emptying the room so we’ve done a bit of that. DH also did quite a bit of sorting the study so DS can use it to watch tv while the living room is out of action and we can store some stuff in there. It’s always an untidy mess which drives me bonkers so I’m going to do a bit more in there in a bit while DH is out in the garden.

I need to order a handle for a new cupboard.

Hoping to get some time with my book later. DH is cooking sausage pasta for dinner.

Afternoon and happy Saturday everyone! I've only just seen this thread today so I'm a bit late to the party! I've spent the morning doing housework and now I'm off to do some shopping for elderly FIL. I've promised myself I won't stay long after dropping it off, as I want to get home and have some Saturday relaxation time, read papers etc but somehow I end up doing jobs/chatting to him and before I know it I'm getting home in the evening. Anyway, today I'm determined not to stay long and I intend to make spag bol and salad for tea (Northern, so it's tea not dinner ha ha) and I'll watch a bit of Strictly then the Voice. My son has recently set us up with an Amazon Fire stick and it's changed our lives! Dh is disabled and our only entertainment is our ancient TV. I've never had such a big choice of programmes/films, it's fantastic! Hope everyone had a good day and get well soon to all those who are unwell. I look forward to tomorrow's thread (if I can find it!).

Afternoon all.

We're struggling with tiredness this week (and still 3 weeks to go until half term)

Kids has swimming earlier and we changed our library books on the way home.

Lunch just finished (beans on toast all round) and all 3 are doing homework.

I am washing all the winter bedding (have thicker duvet covers for the colder months) and I'll get the winter duvets out from storage. It's actually quite mild but it's a job that needs doing.

Probably just a lazy afternoon and a film later. Not sure about dinner. Something with chicken breasts (fajitas or maybe chicken in spicy tomato sauce and rice)

Early night all round.

Had a bit of a tidy up, done some washing and seen DS on his way to work, his girlfriend came back from work as he was leaving

Just waiting for our new oven to be delivered and hooked the old temperamental one out with a 'fuck off and a kick

Was chuffed with myself for finding the tile cutter and cutting a tile to fit under the oven while OH fucked his up

Good afternoon lucysmam and all,
Had a busy morning with a joiner who actually turned up, hurrah! Went through all the stuff I want doing in the kitchen and even then, forgot to include renovating the back door.
So now awaiting the estimate.

Going to tea this afternoon with a friend.
DH spent this morning pottering, including unblocking the loo and pointing out, not for the first time, that the old loo NEVER blocked up, and replacing it was purely cosmetic. Fair enough.
He is doing a roast dinner for this evening.

A sunny but very windy day here, the wind came up after a really really walk with DDog at 7 this morning. The sun was coming up in the pink clouds, really pretty.
Two loads of washing blowing on the line,
I spent a hour turned my craft room upside down looking for my light box. I emptied everything out of the cupboard and drawers then the blasted thing was on top of the cupboard the whole time but sideways on so I missed seeing it 🙄
We have another bloody mouse in the cutlery drawer so emptied everything into the dishwasher, cleaned the trays etc and I have set a trap. It’s the 3rd time and I am getting really pee’d off with them 🤬
DH has mowed the lawn, he’s said he’ll dog walk later (for a change!) so I will try to do more of the Aran cardigan I’m knitting for my niece….it’s not going well….. I have to read every single row of the pattern. I did 14 rows on Wednesday and pulled them all out yesterday after a mistake in the 1st row. Not a happy piece of work for me.

Well I had unexpected help with the wallpaper stripping, and the wall I wanted to strip today is clear and all the sofas moved back , so that’s great . Tomorrow I’m going to sand the wood bits ready to paint next week - it feels a right task atm !

The Galeon Andalucía was fully booked so will return another day and instead met up for play date/tea in Greenwich. It’s so warm
