When….
. You throw towels in the bath or shower tray
. You wire up lights to switches in a way that makes no sense.
. You buy those anti theft coathangers.

You carry on

And second set of charger leads for laptop and phone

You place a tiny green/red light right above your bed, which despite its diminutive size manages to bore through your eyelids and keeps you awake.

You shave just enough off the door to allow light from the corridor to seep in and annoy you (in cahoots with the ceiling light).

And yes to all PPs who mentioned the sockets / mirror / hair dryer situation. Proof that hotel rooms are designed by men.

Oh! Another one. You put only a rainfall shower in the bathroom, no handheld attachment, so you can’t rinse your hair / undercarriage properly.

I think a woman must have had a hand in designing Premier inn rooms, because their hairdryers are plugged into a socket right by a large mirror which has its own light.

My offering to the thread - you have all the windows in your bedroom sealed shut so they can never be opened again.

You love UHT milk in your tea, especially when it involves faffing around opening tiny pots

Tapping your pockets in the most British way everytime you leave the room to make sure you haven’t left the keycard on the desk and locked yourself out.

This was the hotel chain I mentioned above. It was truly astonishing the difference it made. I was travelling with five male colleagues and they were intrigued when at lunch I started ticking off all the things that I had noticed. Realised I had forgotten the black flannels as well in my list. And I seem to remember being very impressed with the toiletries in the bathroom which although I can’t remember exactly what they were definitely had the air of a woman’s touch about them (might have been make up remover and sanitary towels?)

Staying in one hotel, you go to the room number of the previous one you stayed in and try your key.

And you are only allowed to have 4 tiny pots per day. This means you either have to have too little milk in each cup of tea, or you have to limit how many cups you have per day, or you have to ask someone really nicely if you can please be allowed some more pots even though it's not the next day yet.

You have a loud rattly air conditioner positioned just over your bed, but you have no control of the temperature and can't turn it off.

The aircon in my room at the moment is one of the most simple controls I have ever seen. Rest need to be understood by anyone who has done a PHD in air cooling systems.
