Ahh.. mildew on the inside of windows! Why is this happening?

I open the windows at least every other day if not daily. We’ve not been in our house long and I’ve noticed there is fuzzy grey mould on the inside of the window sill by the sealant. I have given it a good antibac and it has disappeared. How do I prevent this?

Opening them every day for 20mins is good, but you also need to regularly clean the inside of the windows (minimum monthly) as mould feeds on house dust.

Also wipe off any condensation in the morning.

What age of house? I think this is completely normal in most houses I'm afraid. Ours is 1930s and it requires daily airing. I leave the windows open all day and still have to wipe some mould away round the windows. Cooking/washing/breathing makes condensation which can creat damp and mould if there's not enough fresh air and not enough heat.

It is probably condensation creating a damp environment. You are going to a load of advice about opening windows, not drying washing in house and using various cleaning products. (For a start what you have isn't bacteria it's a funghi and antibac won't work).

Wipe off what you have with a dilute bleach solution then buy a good dehumifier. Unless you want to spend the winter with your windows open.
