Inconsiderate neighbours - trampoline is an eyesore

Hi everyone. I’ve been polite and smiley with my new neighbours to no avail. I even take round footballs which land in my garden. They regularly have loud garden parties (guessing this will reduce now it’s Autumn) not once have they popped round to give us a heads up. Now they have placed a large tall trampoline right up to my fence and into a gap which we kept free in my garden to allow some open views. We spent hundreds of pounds on trees to give privacy at both sides but they have now filled the gap next to the trees. I have decided to wait until half term to see how things develop (see if they move it?) and if the children actually use it, as this will be even less privacy. The trampoline is far away from their house which means it’s actually closer to me than them and can be seen from majority of my windows.

I'm having trouble picturing it but are you saying you've blocked neighbours out on both sides with trees, but you're upset your neighbour is now blocking you out with a trampoline?

Saz12 · 04/10/2024 18:25

Is the trampoline partly in your garden? If so, go round and tell them that.
if not, then explainn the gap was left so you could see the view, so ask if they would move the trampoline over.

If they don't then there's probably not much you can actually do. Maybe lob fallen leaves onto the trampoline so they get bored of sweeping it clear and move it anyway...? Not sure how effective or neighbourly that would be though!

I would buy more trees. Maybe in pots for now incase it gets moved. I think if all the leaves do fall on it, they might move it.

Is the trampoline in their garden? If it is, not sure what the issue is?

Why not just chuck the footballs back over (or not, if you want), very PA taking them back. Why such effort, are you trying to prove a point?

We need a diagram...

So your 'view' was of the neighbour's garden?

No one is entitled to a view.

Perhaps they have filled the gap between your trees to protect their privacy.

It's not inconsiderate of them to use and enjoy their garden.

Ditto for the OP.
I hate having to put up even with hearing children play, btw.
However, as the OP said, it's not gonna be such a problem during winter.
Don't let me start on F ing barbecues.

I fucking BBQ all summer! Love it!

no we don’t burn meat, if you’re lucky you’d br invited to one of ours.

We bought a house with a garden, to use the garden.

we’ve got an outdoor kitchen, it’s awesome!

The trees give them privacy too without them we would both have no privacy. The trees their side may be overgrown? I can’t do much about it other than offer my contact for tree cutting.

No not proving a point taking balls back. It was to be sociable and to have a chat. I throw them back if I notice them and I’ve said they can come into my garden anytime to collect them.

thank you. Yes that’s what I was thinking to do - have a chat with them and ask them to move it over.
