Free things to do in London?!

My brother and I (20s) are going to London in November to watch the football.

I've booked myself a couple of things to do that aren't his cup of tea, but we need something free to do on the Saturday afternoon. So far our time looks like:

Saturday morning - train to London
Saturday afternoon - free
Sunday morning - him relax, me @ F1 exhibit
Sunday afternoon - football
Monday morning - me @ national gallery for Vincent Van Gogh exhibit
Monday lunchtime - free
Monday afternoon - train home

Before anyone says im awful for booking the things alone, he is totally on board with that and is happy for me to go off and do that. I triple checked with him, he isn't interested in them in the slightest. So any recommendations would be welcome!

Covent garden or borough market are free and good to walk around. You can eat a decent amount of food at borough market in free samples 😂

Yes, there are always street entertainers in Covent Garden.

I was going to say borough market as well, and then walk along the Thames, you'll pass the Globe, Golden Hind, Tate, etc

Lots of museums are free

British museum
V&A
Natural History
Science Museum
Tate

Maybe Horizon 22 or Sky Garden, then through Leadenhall market down to the tower of London, over tower bridge and down to Borough Market?

My understanding is that many of the bigger museums are free, although some of the non-permanent exhibitions are not. You may have already decided to pay for Van Gogh of course, but thought i'd mention just in case.

A walk through Chinatown (just behind the National Gallery) is free and can be interesting, and not a bad place for lunch if you like Asian food.

Maritime museum?

Van Gogh is paid but 1000% worth it in my opinion!!

Thanks everyone. Well most likely be staying at Canary Wharf, if that helps 😂
