Gifts to take to hospital for friend

My friend is going into hospital next week for a hip replacement operation.

Any ideas what might be a nice pressie for her to take with her?

Noise cancelling ear buds. Apparently it’s really noisy in hospitals. Here are some other ideas off the top of my head.

Some of her favourite snacks so she can feel she’s at home or if the meals just plain stink.

Pyjamas or something else snuggly like stuffed animal to makes her feel warm and fuzzy.

Longer charging cord for her phone in case the socket is in an awkward place. A spare charging brick may be good too.

Crossword puzzles or other games to keep her brain active.

Nice tea bags, hot chocolate packets or coffee bags so she can have a better cup of hot something if the hospital options are dire. It could be her evening wind down.

An extra pillow perhaps

A favourite blanket from home. Or from your home!

Magazines

Lotion, face wipes, body wipes, and hand wipes to keep herself a bit clean when the nurses can’t get to her quickly enough. Mouthwash and lip balm maybe too.

A water bottle to keep her hydrated. A flask for hot water that the nurses or visitors can fill so she can have a hot drink when she wants.

Fresh fruit!! It’d be nice to have something unprocessed versus hospital food.

if I think of more I can post them later. By the way, you’re being a great friend. ☺️

@JingsMahBucket
Wow!

Thanks for all those great suggestions.

She loves Lindor chocolates so I'll definitely get some of those and puzzle books are a great idea too 👍🏻

@MonkeyTennis34 you're very welcome! I’m sure she’ll appreciate whatever you give her.

If she has a tablet/ipad, a stand for it.

Don't bother with a water bottle as you always get a jug and cup but a big YES to a flask, I wish I'd taken one in recently.

Some plain biscuits in a zip lock bag , if you're up all night and can't sleep it's a long time to wait until breakfast if you ate at 5pm.

Long charger cord definitely.

@TickingAlongNicely good idea about the laptop / iPad stand. @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor good to know about the water jug. I figured the water bottle would be a nice back up in case harried nurses couldn't get to you in time.

@MonkeyTennis34 also just thought about more snacks since @MrsPelligrinoPetrichor brought up the great point about long times between meals overnight. I'd get some items like Babybels or mini dried sausages which are fine out of the fridge for at least a day. I travel with those all the time because they're so reliable. Also oat or cereal bars are always with me.

DSis gave me a framed picture to keep near. It was a very lovely gesture which I really appreciated

Colouring book and coloured pencils

When my Dad was in hospital he needed lip salve due to the change of environment, so I’d take in all types of moisturisers. A fully charged power bank. An insulated cup for hot or cold drinks.

If she's having the operation NHS she'll be home within 2-3 days.
